Glorious Goodwood

Given that on jockey bookings he's Hamdan's second string and Hannon's third string, Munjally doesn't on the face of it have a lot going for him in the 7f nursery at Goodwood today but the form of his first two races has worked out very nicely indeed and he was palpably unlucky last time out. An initial mark of 82 looks very fair.

Look at Liam Keniry's ride on Angelic Upstart last night - I think he was extremely lucky to get only 2 days he changed his whip for no obvious reason other than to ensure he cut Levi Draper off .

The rules are encouraging intimidatory and careless riding . I think only a modest adjustment is needed to shift the benefit of doubt in favour of the impeded horse - i.e that if that horse had a real chance of finishing in front of the other but for the interference .

We would be spared the lunacy of the old rules when horses that hacked up were disqualified but it would lead to a good deal more care .

Also an offence of intimidatory riding should be introduced .

On the above note; has anyone seen the sectionals for Novellist's King George yet?
I know there were hand-timed sectionals produced, but as part of The British Champion Series, surely Turftrax will have published the electronic version somewhere?

Betfair King George Day at Ascot's loss was the Newmarket July Meeting's gain, as TurfTrax chose to cover the latter rather than the former, following logistical problems with producing accurate and timely sectionals during Royal Ascot.

I'm not sure how that could work or whether it should even be considered. Many competitive sports have an element of intimidation - it's part of the nature of many of them.

Tom Segal (RP Pricewise) has now gone through all five main festivals of the Flat season without tipping a single winner. :ninja:
