Hayley the-profit-Turner

Archie, Did Hayley cost you a few pound in the past? Or maybe turned down your advances?? It's quite clear you have a personal dislike for her.

It's a complete nonsense of a ban with no common sense applied at all.

If you compare it with the recent David Evans / Ladbrokes case it really is of virtual insignificance. Just a silly unimportant lapse whilst the other case was an utter disgrace which really did bring racing into disrepute.

From the RP timeline:
[h=2]2016[/h]March 17 Licence expires so betting no longer prohibited
June 23 Turner reapplies for licence and confirms she is familiar with any changes to the rules of racing
July6 Receives notification her licence has been renewed. Places bets later that day and on the next two days

Totally agree with Archie. She new exactly what she was doing and exactly what the consequences would be. I'm genuinely surprised anyone thinks the outcome is wrong in any way.

I think the amounts that she bet is a red herring. It's like comparing a $10 whore with a $1000 'escort.' One you establish a principle all that's left is the price.

Question: If this exact situation arose with one of the pantomime villains (say RMcLernon) rather than the sweet little media princess would opinions adjust?

I think this sums it up perfectly.

The TV show dealt with it this morning. Needless to say they were in Hayley's corner - at least Chapman obviously was - and I'd be interested to know what were the circumstances behind the story we apparently didn't get to hear.

Was staying with the inlaws over the holidays and went to the local Paddy Power office to relieve the boredom-they had Ruby on the loudspeaker recommending a Willie Mullins treble at Limerick -an even money shot and two odds on pokes. All perfectly legal but it sickens me -heavy ground at Limerick and he is recommending trebles to punters. Two of them were unplaced.
There is something wrong with a licensed jockey recommending bets to the customers of a major bookmaker.
