Did anyone catch Heaven And Earth this morning? Fascinating feature about a new multi-million dollar creationist museum in the U.S of A. creationist museum

Exhibits of children mingling with dinosaurs. Still, at least George Bush doesn't believe this nonsense!

You were watching Heaven And Earth??????? Nothing more interesting to be found at Stratford or Perth???!!!!

As for creationism - don't get me started on that bollocks!!!!!

I tell you what, Mounty - remind me next time I see you to educate you in the true way of thinking - the Catholic way!!! :D

I never miss Heaven And Earth - required viewing for an Atheist. Fare play to Gloria Hunniford for keeping a straight face - unlike the geezer who did the feature - couldn't disguise a grin or seven.

Atheist?? I'll educate you sweetie pie - you know the only way forward is to be a good Catholic girl [or boy I guess!!!] such as myself....

Moi?? Good Catholic girl, me, DO!!!

....ok, so you got me - I might be a tiny bit lapsed....(but don't let on!!!)

Rumour has it SL hasn't been 'practicing' since the day the Pope refused her request to change the communion wine to Chardonnay.

Yes, read article on this in 'This Week' - sweet, isn't it, to think everything was chucked together only 6,000 years ago and that we had wee pet velociraptors, and walked about completely unharmed by the rest of the dinos, sabre-tooths, etc. It would appear the Creationists think that 'The Flintstones' were real people, not cartoons.

Duck and cover, controversial idea being put forward

Creationists may be illogical but so are (in my opinion) people who believe in any religion. I am a confirmed atheist and never understand people criticising creationism while wearing crosses

Er, except that the Creationists DO believe in religion, though, o/b! They are the most fundamental of fundie Christians, and believe that the Bible is to be taken at face value - literally. They believe in the Creation in seven days by God - they believe they're right, and that non-Creationist Christians are wronggggg. There's no fence-sitting for them, trying to juggle a belief in evolution alongside a belief in the Almighty!

I know that Jon, i was trying (possibly not very well) to point out that anyone criticising creationism while at the same time believing in any type of God is living in a glass house and throwing boulders

A 'confirmed' atheist, Mike? In which Church of Atheism were you confirmed, pray tell? :D I like these words which always seem to be used when belief, or non-belief, is mentioned. There was a hilarious article on them a couple of months ago in a newspaper, pointing out the usual nomenclature for various factions: 'staunch' Anglicans, 'devout' Catholics, 'pious' Muslims and now 'confirmed' atheists. You never see 'staunch' Muslims - there seems to be a kind of standard journalistic shorthand for describing every sector. I'm not sure what an agnostic would be, though - other than 'unconfirmed'!

It would be interesting to ask the, er, staunch or devout of this forum, though, what the views of non-Creationist churches are on the subject, and how they reconcile a non-Creationist agenda with the biblical text on the Great Beginning?

Can I have a sports question instead please? :D
