Help Needed

From this weeks Observer;

Rugby player is hard and aloof

I feel I ought to be able to get this. The letters come from the following;

S = Tries during proper drill = Rehearsal

D = English breaking records as well = Besides (this was a swine, and made me swear when I got it)

I = Achieves the required result as a conjuror = Does The Trick

H = Baseball player in jug = Pitcher

but well done, it was actually quite straight forwardish in the end, but you some times spend ages looking at these and will never get them, other times you see them straight away. I don't think I'd have got that in fairness
