Horse Racing,, too many bad jockeys?

Slightly off comment......why do all people who went to public school get targeted for "being toffs?" It really pisses me off to be honest. I went to public school and massively appreciate the sacrifice my parents and grandparents made to scrape together the money to send me there (I've mentioned it on here before). I am in no way a snob nor do I consider myself superior to anyone regardless where they come from (well apart from picking winners at big Flat meetings! :p)

My first boyfriend was from Harrow - his father owned racehorses and had a few winners, which was probably the reason I went for him in the first place!

It's just an ignorant generalisation.

Public ('private' in Scotland) schools tend to be for people from moneyed backgrounds because of the fees involved.

Having come through uni with a number of people from such schools, they most certainly came from moneyed backgrounds but the ones in my circle were very down to earth. On the other hand, the ones we came across from two particular private schools in the Glasgow area were total and utter self-centred snobbish wankers who would have made McCririck seem tolerable.

And, of course, wankers like Cameron and Johnson and their Bullingdon Club types are major contributors to the notion.
