Horses I Got Wrong & Right

EC you're a 2 faced sook trying to earn brownie points........only reason you stuck your nose in.

Who am I supposed to talk about ...fookin you?

I'm having a great Chelteham and the thread does ask what have you got right and what you have got wrong.........

I can't help it if they keep winning and you are losing you balls....great tipster are you? I'm waiting to see you put one winner up that isn't blatantly obvious.

Slims double came up so the day was never going to be a losing one but....Ma Filleule was bad enough but I worsened the blow by backing John's Spirit as well.

Really just pissed about for the rest of the day.......backed a few losers but small money

Big day tomorrow with Peace and Co.......after that keeping bets down make sure don't give them it back.

nothing two faced about sticking up for a decent person..pity a few others haven't got enough about them to do the same.

i haven't lost any balls Tanlic...i had my biggest bet on the NH sectional horses that i highlighted weeks ago..a thread you won't have even read..as we know they are complete boll0x..i know that because you told me so.

not thats its got much to do with you about what i win or lose..and tbh people who come on saying what they win or lose bore the arse off me..but i'll play the game...my outlay over the week at this point is 200+change quid..return 380. whereas you apparently had most of your bank on SS..plus a thousand ante post bets..i didn't start the week off minus 1000s..i started the week off level

as far as putting the blatantly obvious up..you are the man for that..i see you have backed half the GC field today...that looks blatantly obvious one of them will win..laughable imo...but you will be able to brag about it after..so jobs a good un

my record on here is better than most re tipping..i let you get away with telling me how **** i was over the sticks..but you conveniently forget that just at xmas I posted the winner..on the appropriate threads... of the KG..Lexus & Welsh National..3 tips 3 wins.

you seem obsessed with showing how much better than everyone you are..i haven't a problem with that..but you won't do it on my back or at my expense.

and if you dig at people i don't think deserve it..i will poke my nose in...every single time

Thank you for your kind words, friends.

Not bothered by anything Fist says, he's as full of shite as his good mate, Nicky.

In fairness I suppose the title of this thread does encourage after-timing.

What do you mean at your expense..Who asked you to stick your oar in...........Did I after time?...........NO I DID NOT but do you care if Colin was right or wrong...no you don't because all you want to do is be the big man......Captain fookin America to the rescue...Mate you might fool some people but I can see right through you and what you're all about.......used to call them social climbers in your day

BTW everyone starts off on a minus when betting...my lasted for 3 races so and I all but covered ever bet I had AP. One minute you congratulating me next minute you're slagging me for simply writing down how my day went........stand up the real Harvey Dent

I like to hear about why this horse might do that or might do this but reading about peoples bets is incredibly boring. its about as interesting as knowing whether they had three floaters or a no wiper this morning or whether they successfully knocked one out to News at ten last night

TH has drifted towards being more about betting rather than racing in recent times with stuff about each way, doubled up, laid off, yankee placepots and "lay me it 5k if you are saying that" stuff

There is a lot of posturing and im not having a go at one person here at all

Each to own but I find it boring

I apologies I thought racing and betting came hand in hand.

Perhaps Clive biggest win was a free gift in a packet of golden wonder.....seems odd to me he finds others wining boring.

This conversation is boring me already...........close the thread ffs

In fact ban any mention of betting or winnings and don't allow well done JJ you did well.

I saw one poster put up the amount he won today for a small stake..

Lots of us were chuffed to bits for the guy......Happy even!

You guys would have them do what? take him outside and shoot him? tell him he's boring you?

You ever thought you might just be the ones that are boring?

Yes i do find it boring. i dont see we have to know whos had what on or whether they have had anything on at all to justify or back up opinions.

I dont know these people (mostly). I have no more interest in whether they won £5k or as to whether they had a £5k pay rise at work, which amounts to same thing

I couldnt give a **** about their bank balances and they rightly couldnt give a **** about mine

What is interesting is angles on races and horses that i have not considered.

I dont have to read about betting of course and if thats the way it is, then thats the way it is.

and i never eat crisps

in reality..from what i can gather through years of dealing with people who follow this game..regarding winnings..no one really gives a f00k what others win..they only bothered about themselves..those that make out they are pleased for others are generally having themselves on

if anyone thinks folks are genuinly pleased when others win ..then go and sit in a bingo session and hear the groans when someone shouts house..oh yes they are really pleased someone has won

get real Tanlic..its boring as f00k listening to someone waffle on about how much they have won..a borefest so boring its beyond description..and the people who brag about winnings are the most boring arses on the planet..imo

just my view of course..which i will pass whether its popular or not with those having themselves on its remotely interesting

i don't eat crisps either

to be honest..you are starting to come across as one biggest knobs i've come across on forums.

i'm sure you aren't in real life..but you give that impression here

Ok.......so back to the title of this thread then......

Ones I got right
Kings Palace was the big one. Did exactly what I expected
I'd like to claim Don Cossack as well but he ran a fine race as wasn't the shortest of favs
Vautour. Easy to say now, however a lot were against him. When Mullins says he's the best in the yard that's when you sit up and take notice.

Ones I got wrong
Dodging Bullets. Couldn't have him because of his course record
Douvan. Was only against him because of the price compared to what he'd achieved. I heard Johnny Burke say Sizing John was wrong the day Douvan beat him. Turns out he was probably right but it didn't matter.
Djakadam. Got this very wrong. He ran a cracker. Still, I think Willie missed a trick by not entering him in the Grand National :)

Right
Douvan : I felt the vibes had credibility purely by what Mullins has at home to test this horse against and wasn't convinced on anything else in the race and it duly obliged. All in for the Arkle 2016!
UDS : I was waiting all year to back him for the Arkle but just needed to be sure it was him rather than Vautour that went for it. Luckily I didn't leave it too late.
Faugheen : Knew he'd have way too much for the rest.
Vautour : Was happy to go back in after the Leopardstown run when he was pushed out. And how he repaid the faith. Performance of the week.
Peace & Co : Backed him after Doncaster. The opposition seemed to stack up bit by bit over the following months and it turned into a great race but he came through.

Wrong
Sprinter Sacre : Backed him after the racecourse gallop as I had the feeling Hendo & Geraghty felt they were finally getting him ready to rumble. Knew I was in trouble after the Ascot run.
Don Poli : Felt he was the most vulnerable Mullins shorty of the week. Great performance and the one I'd have on my mind for next years Gold Cup above all others. Just seems tailor made for that race.
Djakadam : Felt he was place lay material. Fantastic run and stayed on really well in a searching test.
Coneygree : Backed him NRNB for the RSA at a decent price (ironically it's entirely possible he may not have actually won that race!) and couldn't have him for a Gold Cup after 3 chases. What a performance.

I got Dodging Bullets wrong as well - I think quite a few people did.

Got Silvanico very very right though, Ive long been in the " horse doesnt do Cheltenham" camp which is so easy to see when youre not close to them.
Got Moon Racer right too, even though I do keep calling him Moon Dancer.... :D

Trudi I can join you on 2 of those:

Douvan: I was very much in the L'Ami Serge camp, thought Douvan hadn't really beaten much and L'Ami Serge's performances were of a better standard...oooops
Silviniaco Conti: I have never fancied him round Cheltenham and 3/1 was ridiculously short. I backed Road To Riches at 11s and I was confident that he would finish in the first 3, which he did nicely.

I also got Dodging Bullets wrong - really didn't think that he would win. Probably a lot to do with my heart wanting Sprinter Sacre to win and regain the crown and show the old SS from a few years ago. Dodging Bullets has improved remarkably and did it well on Wednesday.
