Added Ascot in Perth on Melbourne Cup day. Oddly enough, Perth also has a track called Belmont Park just a couple of miles from Ascot. Imaginative folk these Aussies.

I've decided to trust the weather forecast and take a few days off (what's new, I hear you ask) to go racing. New tracks to be visited include Chester today and tomorrow and Perth and York next week.

Gus, I'll be in touch. Anyone else who'll be out and about and wants to meet up please send a PM.

But they sure know how to build a bookies.

I spent Caulfield Cup day stood in a TAB that had an open frontage overlooking Trinity beach, a full on bar, pool tables, dozens of screens reminiscent of a Vegas sportsbook and groups of respectable blokes supping away their Saturday afternoon.

A stark contrast to ours in every way imaginable. Of course I had to use a VPN to bet online and avoid the tote but a small price to pay.

Am also surprised how few UK courses I have been to, though go to most of these very regularly

Best UK course is Cheltenham

Best overall experience/value for money are the Australian tracks

UK
Windsor
Newbury
Cheltenham
Sandown
Kempton
Goodwood
Folkestone
Ascot
Leicester
Brighton
Epsom

Ireland
Leopardstown
Punchestown

France

Can't believe I've probably been racing 100+ times in the last five years but not added one new track! Have promised myself to try harder over the next five....

Six or seven on the mainland left to do and about ten or a dozen left to do in Ireland, some of which may be chalked off in October when we head over.

Update since Page 1:

Ireland:

Fairyhouse
Leopardstown

UK:

Aintree
Carlisle
Cheltenham
Chester
Doncaster
Goodwood
Haydock
Leicester
Newbury
Sandown
Uttoxeter
York

I've been to Newmarket, Exeter, Worcester and Ludlow in the last couple of years.

And also Krefeld in Germany and have just this past Saturday been to Aqueduct. I wouldn't recommend the latter. It's free to get in and basically the
clientele are the types you get in a normal high street bookies over here (apart from the colour like.) Very few of them had any interest in the actual sport
and I think maybe 70% of them did not venture outside the confines of the betting terminals to the stands. The experience in no way compares to a visit to
a Baseball or Hockey game.

I've added Naas and Leopardstown since compiling my original list. I've now been to more racecourses in Ireland, than I have in Scotland!

Barry had a bust up with Clive, who threatened some pretty nasty stuff on a ghost thread, and Barry took his leave as a consequence from memory.

It would be good to see him back. I think there may be one or two on here who may be able to make contact still?

In order of age. Sandown (3), Gosforth Park (12), Epsom Derby (16 - Galileo won this day!), (17, High Chapparal), half a dozen Northumberland Plates at Gosforth Park in my twenties, Epsom again last summer to see Harzand win which was a trip down memory lane to attend there again. My first visit to Cheltenham this year. Longchamp is a place I'd like to go next. Or Goodwood. To meet up with Jinny!
