Teleprompter -there's a blast from the past.I can remember him being beaten in a Redcar Handicap before progressing to win an Arlington Million.

I remember seeing Teleprompter win the Whitehall Stakes at Phoenix Park on a beautiful summer’s day when most of my friends were at a Bob Dylan concert in Slade. His next race was the Arlington Million, at another track now closed, which he also won.

Can anyone remember the other Sangster owned great whose name was misspelled.
Coincidentally, I was on Calle Rodrigo de Triana in Seville yesterday and mentioned the incorrect spelling of the horse's name to Mrs. An Cappall. She seemed slightly disinterested.

Rodrigo de Triana was Christopher Columbus lookout man (and therefore first to see the New World) so the Calle is named after him as might be expected in the Canaries. It’s the horse’s name that’s spelt wrong

Women -they just don't understand the finer things in life.

That was some double -would make a great quiz question.

He also won a Breeders Cup Trial race at Phoenix Park two years later, a solo run for him if memory recalls.
Back in 1977 Aristocracy won a Whitehall Stakes for one Charles J Haughey, his only flat pattern race winner.
Sarah Siddons was runner up.

Someone I worked with at the time had the occasional inside bit of info and gave both RDT and Dr Devious for the Derby well in advance. Remember screaming Lester home listening to it in the car for RDT. Seemed he came from nowhere or just bad commentary!
