I am quite sure, having reached the venerable age I now enjoy, that I must have eaten chicken cooked in hundreds of different ways.

It is now my opinion that the most enjoyable way is to roast a free range one, and just as the fucker emerges from the oven tear it apart and wolf it while the juices run down your chin.

The extra advantage for me is that having a goatee beard, I can enjoy the flavour for many hours.

I don't like eating chicken off the bone. I like all the hard work to have been done and all that is required for me to do is eat without having the burden of knowing I can't consume it all.

That's great for chicken, but not so great for cunnilingus!

I'm with Phil on this one - I simply cannot be arsed with picking the meat off the bone, especially as I don't like the scummy black meat on the bone - I always feel that I've wasted most of it!

Relks - I can't respond to your post as the poxy web security here has starred out the last word!!! (along with whatever it was that emerged from the oven in AC's post  )

S/L it was a For Uncle Charlie Kept Eating Raspberries that came out of the oven.
Put the capitals together.

Thankyou Tetley, much obliged! :D I must confess it took me a minute or two to work out the second clue, I laughed out very loud when I did, making the office cleaners all look at me & start laughing too!

Very good, Relks!

I'm with An. There's a primordial satisfaction in ripping it to shreds with my bare hands and slobbering over the juices. Then spending ten minutes licking my fingers clean before getting the dog to take care of any bits I missed and drying my hands by rubbing them up and down my string vest.

Puts me right in the mood for dickynooky...

And what a lovely surprise for Mrs Mo, on the verge of putting down her latest novel and plumping up her pillow for the night...

"Haarrgggh, wummun! Ah've bin a' th' chook the noo, so sprade yersen for a good 'un!"

One can hardly imagine a more pleasing conclusion to one's evening.

Chicken breasts are a tasteless convenience food. I agree with Mr Capall, roasted free range all the way. Tesco Finest Free Range Chickens (usually 30% off) are the ones I get, although the St Ives Yellow chickens are tastier, if smaller and more expensive . The genuine free range chickens are hard to get and bloody expensive when you can get them. For around €20, which a proper free range chicken costs, you can get a big fat Barbery Duck, which has far more flavour and a lot more eating on it plus you get the bonus of the duck fat.

Yes - the duck fat does linger. I remember lying in the sun two days after eating a duck, whole and my beard incinerated.

This is for all the "good Catholic boys" as there seems to be a disproportionate number of them on this thread.

The Pope on animal rights

You could also download (for free) the 'Meet your meat' video (narrated by Alec Baldwin) which can then be played on your PC. Chickens make an appearance at the very start. A link to the download can be found at the url given above.

Do his sentiments extend to those animals trained by Sir Mark Prescott?
They would certainly extend to the ones he murders for fun Brian.

While the producers of Foie Gras are obviously pagans, I believe it is my Christian duty to make the life of the bird worthwhile by savouring it's mouthwatering flavour.

I've always shared that belief but I thought that this was a thread about food...

Theres supposed to be a documentary on what goes on in abbatoirs next week in BBC2 - apparently it will turn us all into vegetarians.

There's been at least a couple of similar programmes on C4 jinny. They probably attract a similar number of viewers as a post on whip abuse does on here. People would rather not know. It's all shrink wrapped and everybody does it so it can't be wrong.
