An investigation is underway after a man was injured in a brawl in Kildare town this morning.

Up to 10 people are understood to have been involved in an altercation just off Main St in the town at 11am.

One of the men received a blow to the back of the head and was rushed to Naas General Hospital for treatment.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
