As it is not NH I will not spend any of my time going to this meeting but it does look interesting.

In the Derby I cannot see Harzand getting within 3L of a more experienced USAR. Thoughts?

i see it in the other way
curragh will suit better to the derby winner, both horses has similar experience, and at the end of the Derby the winner was going away.

with good ground or softer , the aga khan will make the double.

Unless the ground comes up with some dig (very possible of course) it would be a very tough ask stepping down in trip against Time Test.

Harzand a general Even money Fav at the moment after Idaho was put up yesterday by some books as fav- seems to me as if Dermot Weld is telling us to look elsewhere though after his interview with ATR "He's a tough Colt but he had such a hard race at Epsom"and "I'd love another week for him".
Make of that what you will.

A good card kicks it off tonight.

The first race is full of well-bred types but it's hard to see past Bean Feasa. Very strong form in the book already and her own pedigree is superb.

Atlas has a first-time visor in the 6.00 maiden and is back down in trip, having looked a non-stayer last time. This might be his day.

The Major General was an eyecatcher behind Primitivo at Royal Ascot last week and he'll carry my money in the 10f handicap.

Sholokov amongst others got placed in this race at big prices, anything that fits the bill this year?

He was double that price in the morning with one firm I just wish I'd had more on.
Looked for all the world as if he wouldn't stay further as had been pacemaker over shorter, but he did the complete opposite.

You are correct it was 500/1 with Ladbrokes-that's the price my mate missed.

I made Bean Feasa my only bet of the day yesterday, regarded 9/4 as a terrific price and looked on in horror as she reared up as the stalls opened, losing several lengths and then met trouble in running. The winner (Rehana) was impressive, though.

Weld sets us a poser with Harzand today. It seems to me that he took a long time to let people know of the horse's problem but it's out there now. I can't think he'd run the horse if he really thought he might not show his form so I'll stick with him.

I don't think the Norfolk form is anything special and I was looking to take on Peace Envoy with War Decree but the latter is now a non-runner. I might have a bit on both Dream Of Dreams and Mirdif.

My OH at the time concluded after looking at them in the parade ring that Sholokhov looked best and she was going to back it. I suggested to back it without the favourite High Chapparal, that 66/1 was available. She took her two nieces on a nice little holiday on the proceeds.

Stellar mass is this years big price placed horse

Nice shout del

That was another tough performance from Harzand as Idaho had every chance to go past
Always a joy to see a horse absolutely bred for the trip pulling away where it matters
He'll be a serious player in a soft ground arc
