Jacques Le Marois

Intello ran to the kind of form you'd expect for a middle distance horse running a fast ground mile. Though a couple of raters have it equal, I doubt anyone could put even a half-convincing case he ran to same level he did in the Jockey Club.

that'll be the same Moonlight Cloud which won the Moulin and finished an unlucky 4th in this race between 1.75l by Excelebration?

Doesn't seem like a rock solid odds on bet to me. (place laying)

excellent reading of the form, last years race was completley relevant to
this years race. and the way MC cruised up and went past lethal force,
albeit at 6.5f , had no worries about the trip, and most likely would of won
last years race, but for getting hampered. profile suggested a big run was on the cards along with a perfect preparation. dawn approach was never going to be able to give a good account of itself after so many tough races. weakness's
were there for all to see against toronado LTO.

There's getting 8f and getting it against top class opposition. Her best form is over shorter and I just thought at least one of Intello or Dawn Approach would have too much for her.

She’s won this and the Prix Du Moulin at a mile, which were respectively her best and third best performances, while her second best performances was in the Prix Maurice de Gheest at 7 furlongs in the very soft. So it's just plain wrong to say her best form is over shorter and not to rate her at this trip. She’s a high class winner. The front four went clear like very good horses.

If she "had no worries about the trip" how come she dropped 2-3l on the other principals, in the dying strides of the race?

what he said.

Had the race been 100m shorter, Moonlight Cloud would have bested those nearest by 2-3l more, That's a fair guide to how much she ran below form, and the others ought to be rated accordingly

Moonlight clouds best performances on figures have been over 6.5f at Deauville surely? That's in terms of speed figures and ratings.
