The Sun has been running a story for several days now about these Siberian Chipmunks that apparently escaped from Wellington Park in Berkshire. Being The Old Currant Bun they have to have a dig at The Channel Tunnel as well, and suggest that some have made their way through there along with the Albanians, Latvians, Estonians, Romanians and any other Ians that they could find.
Today they run a story about a woman in Wolverhampton who has been attacked by these pesky rodents and is apparently living in fear of her life. It made me think about how times have changed, and how soft we have become, if any chipmunk had attacked my mum, even when she was in her 70's, he would bloody soon have been turned into a Davy Crockett hat!
