King George VI Chase - Boxing Day, Kempton

what a race. lived up to the billing. shame about don falling but think he was beaten and he's up ok.

Well, pick the bones out of that. Great result betting wise but a lot of different opinions will be taken in relation to March.

What a race. Great to see Cue Card finally win this.

Vautour to the Ryanair and Djakadam's to the Gold Cup surely.

Don Cossack in with a chance when he fell but too many scruffy jumps left Cooper working to hold his place.

thats a great race,,pity about the Don..but CC definately stays..got him wrong..interesting how they kepy him away from the lead

He jumped left throughout and completely missed the last. Will definitely stay around Chelts.

Fantastic race, Great for the sport
Backed DC but wanted Cue Card to win, Brennan excellent too really strong in the finish.

Don wouldn't have been far away if he hadn't fell but it would have been his class that got him closer
Looked like he hated the track

DC outside his comfort zone a little like in Ryanair Chase and chasing the race in the last mile. He got in a scrap with Cue Card for position which does not suit him imo. Give him space and keep him in a rhythm to wind him up ?

Vautour's second open chase and he can comfortably be rated 175+ after that.

Add further improvement, a less forcing ride, and his favourite track, and he'll get the GC trip standing on his head. Double-figure prices are utterly crazy.

You're more optimistic than Willie sounded

a less forcing ride could take the good out of him

Vautour is class act. Ultimately the pace cost him winning. Fair play, they rode him like he would stay.

Hard not to be pleased CC won. Don would surely have gone close.

easier said than done. i don't think it was a "forcing ride" today. he's just a naturally exuberant front runner and they let him bowl along at the speed he wants to go at. holding him back from that will be tough.

They were stopping in front, Don was just starting to press on. However the 2 negatives for him that are confirmed now is that he gets into alot of trouble and makes major jumping mistakes. Still my pick for GC but hopeful he can get a better ride to stay out of trouble and give him more schooling at home so that his jumping gets better.

To be honest, I don't think he would need to be held up in the Gold Cup.......he will improve past them and he will stay the trip.
