Thanks for organising this Roger. It was a lot fun, (and I'm sure a lot of hard work for you), its really appreciated. I'm not sure what my old Neigh muckers would make of me winning a flat comp though!

Well done to Del for winning overall with a stellar performance, and to Ireland who were unbelievably consistent without Barry in the team.

Arthur and Ray, could you post my winnings in gold coins to Sydney please. :) Actually could you hold on to them and put them up for another comp if Roger is willing to organise. Paddy Power meeting in November anyone?

I think we could easily put together a bumper prize if DG is willing to run it. The lad is a different class.

I would like to thank myself for being so shrewd, but more
Importantly, guessers like bar the bull for making me get the post out and do a bit of study. I love it now we've beat him. LOVE IT!

In all fairness, thank you to the people who ran and sponsored the competition, it was most enjoyable. I took home a life changing amount of money this week, and have no intention of claiming the money off grey. What I do suggest is that I pick a bet of some sort, and the winnings are to be split between a prize fund for a similar type of competition, which will be on Friday night Dundalks when I know what's off....in all seriousness, split between another comp and a contribution to the running of the forum. (if that suits the admin, would like the chance to give something back).

That said, il probably spunk the money punted anyways...

Outstanding comp run in the true Neigh fashion. Brilliant by everybody and well done Ireland . Third is not bad for Wales. The regular updates were great

Thank you for your kind comments. I think the various competitions need to be fresh and run perhaps no more than once a year so members are keen to have a go as and when they come around.

Apart from the League of Neightions competition just finished I ran a points competiton for Royal Ascot which had around fifty participants I think and which seemed to be well received. Earlier in the year Steve ran a Who's The Daddy competition and one of the Irish lads ran a Last Man Standing one which was good craic and all these could be an annual event

I am currently working on a new format for another competition which we can try out sometime but do not really want to run any that are based on Cheltenham as I am a member here and usually go up to see the horses working in the morning and then go back when the gates open so wouldn't be around during the day or early evening.

Mind you if anyone else is running one I will certainly participate

We have to have a league of Nations for Cheltenham guys. Who has the spreadsheet skills to do this. I know its a long way off but I would be happy to put up a prize as usual

Thank you Maruco for your request to keep the prize back for the next comp. Very kind of you as it was of New Approach who passed it on from the last comp!! Will I still be holding on to the prize in 2023?

I know. If any of the Irish lads/ladies on here are at Roscommon &/or Sligo evening meetings this month, I can buy you all a drink. (My son, Steve H and myself are nearing ticking off all the courses in Ireland and those two bring us pretty close to our target). Let me know if you're around.

Of course I'll keep the prize going for the next comp which involves our 2 forums (fora?). It's been a pleasure to be involved in such a hotly-contested yet friendly contest. Not a single sign of sledging that I saw! Many thanks also to Grey for his prizes but, most of all, to DG for his formidable scoring and organisational skills which added so much to the enjoyment.

Its nice when you get to the age when you can step aside and proudly watch the kids continue the work you started. I feel quite emotional tbh.
