Yes I know it's started but a place for any news looking ahead to the season proper.

Modus, second in the Festival bumper ( already a winner in a NH flat race at Cheltenham) and third in the Punchestown bumper was bought a few weeks ago at the sales here in Cheltenham by Tom Malone Bloodstock and has been sent to Paul Nicholls.

I read that article earlier today. A good example of what he's capable of is Broughtons Bandit........bought for 2/ won over 5k in prize money and backed for plenty at Perth.

Owners must love this guy and it will be interesting to keep an eye out for any additions to his string. Man could win a race with a 3 legged donkey.

I'm looking forward to Market Rasen next weekend. Always a really good card and is the best fare on offer over the summer. Usually see Roddy there, and a nice place for a few beers after racing too.

Last time I was at Marker Rasen Brown Chamberlain won the Hennessy and if memory serves me well Silver Buck won at MR.......great course.

Good luck with Rolling Maul for the coming season Roddy and to everyone else.

One horse I can't wait to see run over fences in Jonjo's Minella Rocco. Hoping he stays sound he could the best young horse he's had in a very long time.

Looking forward to see what WPM has in store for his chasers this winter
John Durkan and then Kempton for Vautour and JNW then Lexus for Don Poli possibly.

Will need a bit of cut in ground you think Tanlic?

was he out injured after February last season?

He's only ever run with plenty cut in the ground but who knows how he would react to good fast ground.

The way he carried himself and traveled through his races I wouldn't have thought it would be a problem.

I sincerely hope it isn't as if you are going to reach the top being ground dependent is a huge minus.

No he wasn't injured and was supposed to run at Aintree in April but was pulled out when found to be a bit sore before the race.

I laughed when I read WPM said Douvan was the best young horse he'd ever trained.

At Cheltenham he eliminated all doubt about that with a brilliant win in the Supreme.

Only wish I knew for sure where they intend going with him this coming season Champion Hurdle or Arkle?

If anyone know for certain please let me know

Hope you are right. I'm sure WPM will get it right like always.

It is absolutely amazing that anyone can take his 4 top horses namely Faugheen, Vautour, Un De Sceaux and Douvan send them out 40 times and win 38 races

I can't think of any other trainer who has achieved that.

I wouldn't be overly keen on lumping on 3/1 Douvan 8 months in advance but this NH season could end up as another 2013 Arkle type field where opposition is so thin on the ground that he ends up going off 2/5-1/3 in march.

nah i think he's got arkle written all over him if they go chasing

can't back him this far out but can see the scenario fonz suggests playing out quite easily

Douvan isn't one if his top four horses, you sacreligious cu*nt.

:)

500 quid a man between 10 and we can have a day out at Perth

Far better than running a yack around Ireland for a year with the owners under the impression its being handicapped when the reality is its just useless,

Nicholls appears to have a good few back into Ditcheat this morning
