I am intrigued to know if you treat people differently on forums once you meet them? I have met a few people from various racing forums, and I do sometimes find it remarkable when you evenutally put a face to a name.

I always thought "Ted" from FF was an old grey haired bloke and he just isn't. He is a lovely, funny, family man. I thought Ron (Escorial) was in his late 60's and he clearly isn't. I met young (16 year old) Joe (enough said) and thought he was a really charming, polite young man. Yes, I get it wrong occasionally. :D That said, Brian Hartigan was basically how I imagined him.

I thought Krizon (Jon) when she was on Channel 4's forum many years ago, was a young man from Brighton, and she is just such a lovely, kind middle-aged lady.

Songsheet threw me, as I imagined someone younger, not meant as an insult Julie, you just have a "younger" persons outlook on life at times.

Rory, I had about right, and almost knew him before he told me who he was!

Merlin was as I expected, but The Cardiffian was definitely not!

These forums can play real tricks on you, and those that you think look and sound a certain age (or sex) can throw you completely when you finally meet them.

Saying that, those that I have had run ins with over the years on different forums, look almost exactly how I imagined they would and all seem to have one common denominator which I will keep to myself. B)

I'M still getting bookings TRIG..... :P  Kathy you aint had a run in with me..YET.. :o :P but somehow I turned out as you expected?????????????

Yes one builds up a picture as to what are people really like in the flesh???? no offence meant (but would be nice to see all the females in the flesh !!! that is :D )

but only a few shocks on my meetings, others were how I invisaged them but not in size????????

No offence taken, Kathy. You know what they say, you're only as young as the man you're feeling....

Which makes me several years younger than you! :P

I've met one person from this forum.

It wasn't till I got home and realised I'd just spent two hours in the company of The Sundance Kid that I kicked myself for not getting his autograph.

I must admit Phil, I have absolutely no idea what you look like, although I understand you have rather nice breasts!

Well, everybody that I have met from this place has been very friendly & a good laugh. I'd happily meet up with any of them again & several of them I have met up with on more than one occasion. I also count several people on here as friends, not just 'people I know from the net'.

I had arranged to meet MUTTLEY & DIMINUENDO @ Chepstow a few months ago now ... but the builders started on my outside alterations on the Sat instead of the Monday next, I did p/m them and conveyed my appoligies that I could not make it.. and then went down with this really bad flue bug on the Sunday so maybe it was a blessing in disguise for them both by not obviously catching it off me :P :D as Vera once sang... WE'LL MEET AGAIN!!! SOMETIME SOMEPLACE!!!! ?

I was interested to see that Kathy has had " runnings " with people on various forums - I never had her down as an athlete involved in inter forum jogging.

All the people I've met from this forum look like that boy up on the hill in Deliverance - even the women. Is there a lot of inbreeding on forums or is it just because it's a horsey forum?

I hope that is not personal abuse Ardross, as I would have to have the comment edited by a moderator. You really are a little joker on the quiet aren't you. Even PDJ laughs at your little jokes. How sweet.

Okay, it was meant to be 'run-ins', but which among us has not made the odd literal? The brain sumtimes tills the figures to type what a word or phrase sounds like, not the weigh it's spelled, or spelt, with the result depending on what your brian decried at the thyme.

Ian Davies (spit) was strangely reticent when I met him a couple of years ago, but otherwise, no-one has particularly surprised me, even Kathy.

Like I have stated before, some people on this forum are just as you would expect them to be. Those that like to try and belittle and bully people on forums are not normally like that in "real" life. How true that is in many cases - or certainly in my experience. For instance, Joe was as quiet as a very quiet mouse in "real life".

I have edited the word Krizon :shy: and god help Ardross and his side kick PDJ when I find one of their errors. Can I call them childish, or is that deemed a personal insult which Ardross will find necessary to immediately delete. B)

But in mitigation, Kathy, he kept his little pink tail tucked in his trousers, so you wouldn't have known, would you?

(Stand by for the usual outburst of loucheness...)

I certainly was not concentrating on his trouser area at any time during our meet up Krizon.
