Big field flat handicaps aren't my thing, especially when I don't know half the runners.

However a friend lives in Australia and she's going this year, so has asked me for advice. Told her I hadn't a clue but I probably knew some people who did.

So - any idea what wins?!

A good mate of mine who always puts a lot of effort into analysing this race reckons Almandin is a good thing.
I'm with you in that big flat handicaps don't do it for me but I might have something on at around 14/1

I'm seriously sweet on Big Orange, despite the weight and have backed him at 14s e/w accordingly. Arguably he's in better form than last year and has a much better draw this time.

It's undoubtedly a tricky race year on year but I just can't see him out the 4.

i think he has an impossible task at the weights

I'm not the slighest bit concerned with his weight. The jockey and luck in running are another thing however.

Would love to see heartbreak City win for Tony Martin.
Jockey getting rave reviews in Hong Kong and would frank what was an amazing days' racing at Cork last Easter Saturday for future winners as stated previously.

Secret Number is one I've had my eye on. Has got a nice enough draw too. I see Segal has gone and gave it a mention aswell.

Exospheric [sp] for me. But just hoping for no fatalities this year. One of my favourite races has become a bit of a nightmare over the past couple of seasons.

Tidy.

Set the alarm.

Had originally decided to sell the bet to a friend but I am going to view it as a raffle ticket. As regards setting the alarm this time last year I went for a massive touch on Max Dynamite and was absolutely crushed at the ride Dettori gave him-was very hard to sleep after it.

Was unlucky for sure. You are reliant on a bit of luck at times. No gaps appeared and he just couldn't get out. The winner just took his run which ultimately won the race.

Can anyone recommend the best site containing runners, riders and analysis for the whole of the Melbourne Cup day card?

the aussies jocks, rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat-tat, whip no boundaries, ******* criminals...

Can Qewy do it? 2nd bottom weight and with Craig on board, I'm on. Good luck everyone
