Patricia Hewitt announced the receivership not the management of Rover... and mutterings about the pension. :what:

Lots more to come out about this no doubt.

Good Bye Labour!!!

no production now... :o suppliers worked on a 45day credit basis now they want COD..... so not having a cash flow effects this!

So therefore I cant see a recovery at all the ROVER 75 model is now 7 years since its first launch... the only cars selling are the sporty M-G.........and buyers are going to stop buying as guarantees will now be exempt too.......

So yes another one bites the dust.....................

Looks like the Govt. isn't going to bail it out, then, and with the Chinese already having a massive 500,000 cars unsold, it's a bit unlikely they'll want to consider a deal any further. So, it looks like "toot, toot, Tony, goodbyeeeee..." If only... :(

If the Conservatives cannot win on the back of this latest annoucement, I would be amazed. The polls (not always reliable I know) are already confirming the gap is rapidly closing.

Let's hope this is the end of Labour for good.

Jejquade, blooming heck, a fan of Tone? There was me thinking you were a sensible girl. :P Feisty, but sensible.... :D

Michael Howard is just the Demon Headmaster in disguise.
Believe me - as you get older you will realise who the real demon Prime Minister was....

Don't worry, no row to follow. I respect your views, even if I don't agree with them. B)

PS. I now know you are (almost) a total doughnut!

You must feel sorry for all the families involved. I wonder if they will still qualify for their pensions. I think I know the answer to that, and so do the employees. Will Labour possibly bale them out at the last minute?

I agree you cant blame the Govt for this. It`s a company with a terrible product bought by lamebrains who drive too slow.

The Government did , for once everything it could to save the company . With a Tory boom and bust govt Rover would have gone bust years ago and with their lunatic European policy inward investment in this country would have crashed .

This government may have been a disappointment but swapping them for Michael Howard and his nasty racist incompetent bunch would be jumping from the frying pan into a blast furnace
