Moustaches for charity

My ex once grew a trendy moustache during the 80's when the thin, pencil line type were all the rage. He went very quiet towards the end of our evening out and then, unable to resist seeking my opinion, asked me what I thought of it. He was very fair, the moustache was stylishy thin ... and I hadn't even noticed. Whoops.

Very good. Are you going to keep it?

By the way, did your optician forget to put lenses in your glasses?

In the US, it's also called a lady's fancy, DO. Don't ask why!

I don't think the optician forgot, Grey - it's another of DO's canny cost-cutting exercises. He's off to Oxfam tomorrow to raid the Specs For Africa box, bung 'em a quid, and make off with the best pair he can find.

You can see right through me, Krizon...

I can't wear contact lenses and am unsuitable for laser surgery. I hate having to wear glasses and hate rimmed glasses - especially the hideous modern so-called designer shite they're punting in the specs shops these days - so my only option is to go for glasses that look as little like glasses as I can find.

These are the ones I eventually got online for just over £100. They're similar to but better than the ones I paid about £500 for and which met their end in my car accident last year.

Last week I suggested eking more sponsorship out of people by shaving half the moustache for yesterday and today.

My senior girls came back with a counter-proposal: that I dye half the moustache and the opposite half of my hair shocking pink for two days. I told them if they got together £200 in CASH for 3.30pm today they had a deal.

Well, the senior girls got together a few pence over £200 so I'll be dyeing half my hair half the moustache pink for two days (to be decided) next week.

And there will be NO photos of that!

Thanks to all who've pledged and/or already sent their money to me. It isn't too late for those that haven't...

Thanks once again,
Maurice.

Update - the moustache was removed yesterday evening.

I had to keep it for a while due to sponsorship commitments at work, which included dyeing half the moustache and the opposite half of my hair 'hot pink' for two days.

The total monies have topped the £500 mark with more to come.

(It's not too late either...;))
