Well, here’s the scores on the doors.

Winners have always been hard for me to find on the second day, so there’s a lot of hope invested. Not surprisingly I only square with Gemini once today (see below).

1:20: No Drama This End has been very impressive, although he had to work a bit harder last time. Also interested to see how Act Of Innocence goes and if he beats No Drama This End Nicholls won’t be at all pleased. Mullins likes to win this race and he has half a dozen trying for him.

2:00: They have been mucking about trying to find the right distance for Romeo Coolio and if he copes with this (he did win a point to point over three miles in his youth) he’ll take some beating. Whatever the result I doubt the home side will have much say in the matter.

2:40: The Yellow Clay hasn’t reached the heights of last year when he was second to The New Lion, but if first time pieces make a difference he should get nearer to it today.

3:20: Keith Donoghue is the absolute master of the cross country game and if Stumptown has recovered from the rigours of the Pardubice he can prove it again.

4:00: If the pieces work their magic one more I can’t see anything getting within spitting distance of Majborough. He’s my bet of the week.

4:40: Inthepocket ran his best of the season last time and I’m just going to rely on Henry to have him at his lifetime peak for this.

5:20: I’ve not seen a bumper horse to set my pulses racing and the race is stocked with potential and best watched to see how they sort themselves out. There have been vibes for Quiryn so I’ll go with that.

I:20 - Bambino Fever really impressed me on her second bumper run at Leopardstown and she’s done well for me ever since. Can’t desert her now. Bit worried about first time tongue tie, though.

2:00 - I don’t think Regent’s Stroll has quite lived up to potential Nicholls sees in him. This might be the time.

2;40 - Can’t see past Wodhooh in this and with Lossiemouth out of the way she should justify favouritism with ease.

3:20 - interesting one with the seasoned campaigners Teahupoo and Bob Ollinger up against new kids on the block Honesty Policyand Kabral Du Mathan. I’ll be going with Teahupoo.

4:00 - Fact To File is another odds-on favourite who should win, but Jonbon tries the extra distance here after never having been out of the first two in his career over two miles. He’s getting on a bit and has lost a bit of speed, but I’ll have to have a bit on him for old times sake.

4:40 - Supremely West has been aimed for this since the start of the season (so have others) and Dan Skelton thinks anything that beats him will be the winner. No surprise he’s gone favourite, but anything can jump out of the woodwork.

5:20 - Fraught with danger this one If I’ve got any money left I’ll probably keep it in my pocket, but the selection is Jeriko Du Reponet

Well, that’s a bit better. Account has gone in the black since only three bets yesterday and all delivered something. All I’ve got to do now is try to do the same for this little competition. I’m miles ahead, but that’s because they are proving useless. There’s still a danger that Random might land a biggy like she did last year .

Day 3 Breakdown (Thursday 12 March)
• 1:20: White Noise (40/1) won. Bambino Fever (Joint) unplaced.
• 2:00: Meetmebythesea (9/1) won. Regent's Stroll (User) finished 3rd.
• 2:40: WINNER! Wodhooh (5/6) did the business for you.
• 3:20: Home By The Lee (33/1) won. Teahupoo (User) unplaced.
• 4:00: Heart Wood (9/2) won. Fact To File (Joint) unplaced.
• 4:40: WINNER! Supremely West (100/30). A brilliant call on the favorite.
• 5:20: Ask Brewster (22/1) won. Jeriko Du Reponet (User) unplaced.

It looks a fearsome day today and I think I’ll only be risking peanuts, if anything at all.

1:20 - I’ll go with Selma De Vary who showed a lot of promise on her debut for Mullins and will surely improve on that run. I also want to watch Fantasy World who was bought for this race, but he’s not shown much on a couple of runs. Bound to improve in this, but enough?

2:00 - Joyeuse has the ability, but does she have the will? Ran well last time, though - 17/1 had come to take the lead at the last, but buggered it up and lost all momentum. Looked like she was back to form, but her ears did go flat.

2:40 - Dino Blue is head and shoulders above these, I think, but why has she been drifting**. Have to watch how that develops because she’s the only one I’m happy about.

3:20 - On form, I can’t really see anything to challenge Dr Steinberg, but I doubt it will prove as easy as that.

4:00 - Inothewayurthinkin was impressive last year and it’s hard to think he’s gone. I thought he looked tired rather than unwilling when he fell at the last on his last run and I reckon he’ll strip a lot fitter now. I’ll risk that he’s not one of those Gold Cup winners who are never the same again, but I doubt I’ll risk it with money.

4;40 - Haven’t go the faintest idea, but Nicholls likes winning this so I’ll go with Golden Son and his daughter, Olive.

5:20 - East India Express ran quite well in this last year and showed some glimmerings last time - 1/1 that’s more like it. Unlucky, made good progress but then got shuffled back through the field, then came back strongly again in the straight to go into the lead after the last. Just failed to hold on and went down by a neck.

** did this last night, but she’s stronger this morning.

Nicky does seem to think Fantasy World will take a step forward, BJ. Will be tough in the extreme...but I don't have a clue...so we both might well be cheering a 66-1 shot.
