What I am always interested in is how people find out about this place? I know the RP competition spread the word and all but any other ways the newbies found out about this place? More in here the better.
Just a quick note to all the new members in the last few days( 23 in two days!).....I see alot of them on in the state of "validation". Hope ye all understand that Col (dvds2000) who runs the forum is pretty busy so getting through them might take a bit of time, so just hold on in there!
I have been regular punter most of my adult life and enjoy horse racing all year round. Don’t go to the tracks like I use too but still manage to visit York (favourite course) a few times.
Some one mentioned this site on another board and that’s how I found out about it.
Hello, actually I have been a member before and have lurked since the channel four forum, nobody will remember me though (Sandra). I was the one who brass knecked it and emailed Michael Dickinson about Wayward Lad (one of my all time favorites) about 2 months before the old boy died, as to his wellbeing. Also nearly met up with Terry at Aintree many years ago, but since he was probably stuck in the bar, we didnt meet.
Thought I'd give the actual posting another go, but as I dont bet and have a hard time backing up my selections (does womens intuition count) they could be very short and lacking in depth.
Aidan thanks for the welcome pm, we have spoken in the ol Ch 4 chatroom, when it was going. I was a huge Istabraq fan, as you can probably guess.
Welcome back home, Sandra/Isty. You bet women's intuition counts! If the amount of infuriated men going home with their ratings and form theories in tatters, while their wives have picked out winners on the basis of 'just a feeling', is anything to go by, it's as valid as anything else.
Hope you enjoy all the oldies, as well as the newer names, on the forum. (I was 'Jon' - my real name - for a while on the Ch.4 forum before giving it up as a bad job, after a number of 'woofter' type references. I was, and still am, a woman - and welcome another one back!)
Thank you everybody for the really great welcome. Krizon I remember you in both names and I never once doubted you were a girlie, its the brains and wit that give it away. I was going to join before Cheltenham but decided to leave it till after, good job I was rubbish (intuition either turned off or gone), still ready and waiting for Aintree now (yeah right).
New here myself, screen name is after a decently-bred but very poor selling plater whose runs I always follow (more out of sympathy than anything else really!)
Not big time in betting, just a racing fan who has regular small flutters and a degree of success!
