Noise Pollution

I am looking for some information on noise pollution.

I live on a main dual carridge way in University residences and there has been a new club opened up over the road, literally about 500 yards.

The music has been banging out since 12pm, it's now 6:15 in the morning with the bass still going hard and I haven't had a winks sleep.

Who do I write a complaint too and what sort of laws are there?

Never seen anything like it.
 
The council - they have an environmental department who deal with thus. They should come out and take sound measurements before taking action if they are exceeding limits.

Had to do this myself due to the nutter who lived next door being off his meds and listening to his cds at top volume all through the night, council were very quick to act.
 
I live next door to a fire station. They used to leave the external tannoy on till all hours, even though no one was out in the yard. Every time the phone rang etc, I'd get it full belt. I looked up the top brass of the fire service and emailed them over it. Head of operations contacted me, gave me his number in case ever happened again, and they shut the tannoy system off. Has happened a couple of times since and I just mail or ring him. That's the end of it.
