Novice Chasers 2009/10

Any chance the title of the thread could be changed to 2009/10 Novice Chasers. Could get confusing in a few weeks time?

Considering that Crack Away Jack has always looked a chaser in the making, he didn't do too badly as a hurdler, winning a Fred Winter and coming 4th in the Champion, no?!?

He was impressive today, winning on the bridle. However, his jumping, which looked very good up until the first Railway fence, was a tad novicey, especially at those notorious Railways. In fairness though plenty of experienced chasers have struggled on occasion with the Railways; get the first one wrong and you're automatically on a dodgy striding for the remaining two. Up until the Railways, which dented his confidence slightly, he was jumping well and with a lot of scope.

I still think he's this season's Arkle winner; I've kept the faith for nearly two years now, waiting for him to meet these big black buggers!

Osana, Roberto Goldback and the mighty Kimberlite King all make their fencing debuts in the 2m beginners chase at Navan today.

Osana looked good today, and has to enter Arkle calculations.

Long Run beat Rubi Ball 2.5L in the Maurice Gillois.

Nice effort by the very elegant and handsome KIMBERLITE KING - finished 4th, while Nina C (can no-one else win Bumpers in Ireland but her, the wondergirl?) turned in a perfect win with PERFECT SMILE - eeeeasy!

He was interviewed on ATR post-racing and CATCH ME was okay then. Skeetered all over the shop, making the most heroic effort to stay up, poor darling.

Weapon's amnesty seemed OK after his fall . Hope so .

He looks a horse crying out for a return to hurdles judging by his first two outings over fences.
