2 Irish novices of note today

Another HDB/Potts sizing in Sizing Rio who won by some 18 lengths against a fancied Gigginstown. Probably a chaser in waiting

Waaheb won comfortably today. SJ have him as low as 10/1 for the Supreme

1 last week ar punchestown rule the world quite an interesting debutant owned by giggenstown and ex pointer another whose probably a chaser in waiting

sizing rio ran his race 10 seconds faster than waahab

Sizing Rio does look immensely promising on the clock PR..about 40lb faster than the second fastest race ..won by Seefood..that race was decently run so Sizing looks really decent...i'd be watching how Cops & Robbers does as well as the winner over the next few runs

Sir Des Champs and Don Cossack excepted the biggest hard-on Mark Howard had for a horse in his new Annual was Wonderful Charm who runs for Nicholls in the Persian War on Saturday.

No entries at the min Granger.

Excited to see two UK pointers on the track - the first is Comeonginger who won his two starts in the South West impressively for Richard Barber and IMHO more excitingly a horse I put up on the "What Are You Backing Today" thread called Tiqris who won his point at Whitfield despite a bad blunder costing him 15 lengths at the second last, he was going twice the speed of his rivals jumping the last and should have won at Chepstow. He'll be a decent horse for Hobbs this season IMO.

Minsk remains a novice for this season....

He has done well over the summer when he was in training with John Oxx. Hopefully he'll make up into a good novice hurdler for us. The fact that he is still a maiden over hurdles is a plus really and we'll get him going sometime in November. Hopefully he'll be good enough to line up in a good novice at Christmas. The Triumph Hurdle can be a very hard race for them, so the fact that he missed Cheltenham last season could be a blessing. We'll try and get plenty of experience into him before March and he will be ready for it this time.

There's that too DoM - suspect he'll be like many 4yo's in that he won't be up to Champion Hurdle class and IMHO Geffen would have been better off leaving him in France to have a crack at the big Grade 1 over there in November, particularly in light of the passing of his Prix Amadou conqueror Usual Suspects.

Unless the intention is to send him chasing? To be honest I would imagine he'll probably get a similar sort of season to that of Silviniaco Conti a couple of years back. Start him out here before stepping him up to graded open races to test out whether he's a viable CH prospect, if not he'll probably be given an easy season with a view to going over fences next year.

Ransom Note is in training with Twiston Davies, worked with imperial commander. Could be a useful recruit having been rated 117 at his best on the flat.

Very impressed by the run of Evan Williams' Lienosus in the Persian War yesterday. Travelled very well into the race and was on the bridle when a bad mistake 3 out knocked it out of him, he had previously won 2 p2p's here in the UK and I can see him improving a heck of a lot for the run - would certainly have been second but for the mistake yesterday.

Clondaw Kaempfer - won easily at Aintree today

Copper Birch won a PTP over 3m

Pure Style hasnt been out the first 3 in 6 runs since including 2 wins

Shattered Dream ran well l/t/o in a hurdle and is entered on 31st at Punchestown

Werenearlyoutofit is entered in the bumper at Bangor tomorrow and could be the e/way value bet in the race?

Heads up SC/Granger - the other division of that Bennetsbridge Maiden was won by Clondaw Draft who goes in the same race as Wearenotoutofit tomorrow, he was left cllear by a final fence faller that day but the time was 15 seconds slower than Sizing Rio's race, still probably one to keep an eye on.
