Novice Hurdlers 2012-13

I wa lucky enough to hit 8 lines on the pace pot today backed a couple of the shorties and had a few quid each way on rajdani expeess in the last, only downhill from here!.Just read that Benny,if it were mine I'd have to lay something back but leave enough in there to get excited about.ive said it on another thread but look out for someone doing handstands there tomorrow if bondage wins the coral cup:whistle:

I've been knocking at the door trying to find out where the hell Nicky Henderson's Tistory has been and at last some news has filtered back. Apparently he was slightly injured but is now back in training but whether he'll run over hurdles this season or not at this late stage is debatable.

I suppose he could go to Exeter then straight to the Festival but there could be an alternative.

Nicky messed up last season when he decided with the owner to miss the Champion Bumper and go to Ireland for theirs instead. The only problem was he neglected to check the rules which are not the same as they are in England. As far as Ireland is concerned the French bumper he won is not a bumper it's a flat race so he was chucked out on his backside. Must have been drinking too much of Oscar's whiskey:lol:

Unless there's some rule I don't know about (Highly possible) they could decide to go for the Champion Bumper this year but then Nicky hates the race so I suppose he could go for Aintree bumper?

Keeping my ear to the ground as he's got to go somewhere or he would have just roughed him off until next season and not brought him back in.

Entered on Saturday in the bumper ;) Serious horse who has been working with Grandouet and Simonsig before they ran at the festival.

entered him in the 2m4f novices hurdle earlier in the day as well

would imagine bumper is the plan though

Tistory was only entered for Aintree at the last minute, they had planned to run in the Punchestown Festival bumper but realised just in time that a ruling about the races Tistory had won in France prevented him from competing there. The bumpers he won in France were non-thoroughbred, as such they are classified as flat races in Ireland whereas they are not in England.

Your a year out DG it was last season he was entered for the PF not this and he wasn't entered at all at Aintree if memory serves me well. He was supposed to go hurdling this season but was injured and they didn't have time to get a run into him before Cheltenham.

There's good reasoning behind the double entry. If he's in tip top nick after his final prep the bumper would be the way to go. If not he has the opportunity to get some hurdling experience.

Simonsig won the Hurdle race last season and MTOY ran 2nd in the bumper.
Hard acts to follow.

Thanks Tanlic, saw an interview with NH and thought he meant this season

Melodic Rendezvous has again scoped badly and now misses Aintree and Punchestown. It must be very frustrating for Jeremy Scott who also was unable to get Empiracle to the Festival Bumper. MR is seven now so, presumably, chasing beckons. He'd be one of the likelier novices for next season.
