Offshore Bookmakers

Yes, the the likes of the PA/SiS/Turf TV do get their data from an original source (presumably the BHA or Weatherby's) but since they supply most of the industry with such data - ie not just the bookmakers - they'd surely struggle to build a case to stop supplying all information to the PA/SiS/Turf TV just to make sure the offshore bookmakers don't get their hands on it.

Ladbrokes officially moving sportsbook offshore by the end of the year. Also bought BOG in online, a long time after their competitors have, however it does mean that most other firms will have to meet them with this concession.

Interesting that Hills and Ladbrokes aren't doing BOG over the phone, says to me they want to scale back their phone business as much as possible and drive as many bets as possible through the internet.

If bookies are going off shore, would a tote monopoly be sensible based on the government possibly having to support the industry in and through any difficult times both now and in the future, should more bookies choose to do the same which will inevitably have an effect on the industry in this country.
