I've marked Dawn Patrol (1.20 Ascot) as a future top-class stayer.
The last day he stepped up in distance and won in good style; the further they went, the better he was. I'm hoping that tomorrow he'll throw down the gauntlet for top staying honours next season.
It's a stern test alright. The Strad has been at the head of the top table for some time now and tomorrow's 2m will tell me whether my estimation of Dawn Patrol is justified.
