As per the title, you can only pick one novice for the year ahead that you are really looking forward to seeing

To prevent everyone picking Envoi or Shiskin, it can't have won at Cheltenham before

I'll start with one of Henry's, Jessica seems lost to jumps, you know Meades will fold after Christmas and Willie/Gordon have too many

Bob Olinger

I'll opt for one of Nicky's, Dickie Diver, who ran creditably last year finishing fourth in the AB on his last outing. Had some minor injuries to contend with but looks indicate a great deal of maturity, more so than than a lot of his potential opponents. The stable have high hopes this season (but don't they always )

Appreciate It is perhaps too obvious so I'll go for Harry Fry's Get in The Queue who upset me when missing this year's festival but will hopefully end up taking his chance in the Ballymore, where he'd possibly have to take on the aforementioned Appreciate It amongst others.

Incidentally, he has an entry at Uttoxeter this Friday.

I was going to nominate Bob Ollinger and then got to the end of your post PJ!

Of the novice hurdlers outside him I really like Farouk D'alene. There are a couple of novice chasers I've backed early antepost at 50/1, Embittered and Commander of Fleet. I also think Galvin will be aimed at the National Hunt Chase and I'm happy to have 25/1.

But if I can only have one I'm going to go for Klassical Dream who I'm convinced is going to make a seriously good novice chaser. I've backed him with cash out (as I have the others) Arkle 20/1 and Marsh 25/1. I think he'll head down the Arkle route and take on Shishkin with a really good shout. His Supreme win was every bit as good as Shiskin's, and the race has worked out really well.

Left field one for me. I have been hoping that Zarkareva would be put up at ridiculous odds for the mares chase but cant find a price yet. Runs on Wednesday. Most impressive novice chase winner I've seen this year (its early). Robbie Power spoke very well of her after the egg+spoon race. I'm hopeful she might be very good.

Darver Star starts over fences tomorrow. If he takes well to them it will open a lot of options for him on spring ground.

FORGED IN FIRE for me. At Joseph’s yard and owned by Gigginstown. Beat Ferny Hollow on his debut and Fernys 3rd run of 5, over Christmas last year at Leopardstown, and that was his only appearance. Could be anything!

Hoping to see Commander Of Fleet over fences this year.

Quite like Easywork as well.

Not really looked at any stable tours or know what targets what for horses yet. The current pandemic causing stress on the household that I’ve never known before.

My Mrs being on maternity leave, me being furloughed, and being locked down in a house with a hyperactive 4 year old who’s just started school, and teething twins has been nothing short of horrendous.

Good choice DannyB

Looking down the AP lists for the festival novices last night I found it impossible to choose just one but Latest Exhibition was certainly a candidate

For the sake of variety I’ll nominate Easywork

Those sort of beginner's chases i'm just as interested in the ones in behind and the HdB JP horse in second and esp Conflated who was way left at every fence both went in the tracker.

If Thyme Hill went chasing I'd be big on him - but sounds like he is heading for Stayers - so Pic D'Ohry, Arkle.

I had a look through my Cheltenham notes yesterday to see if I could come up with anything for the thread. Easywork was one that I seemed positive about ("free early and green late" in the Ballymore) but with Elliott there's no way of knowing which races they'll be trained for and which will be for education and/or conditioning.

I'll keep looking for something likely to run its race a few times in the UK.

Boom 5/1, only put in the race at the last...done it easy enough!

The Latter...Or even the 4th race on the card same day[emoji38]
I have been backing her for the mares from 20s down and am now starting to worry that She might be Willie's supreme horse, Shes that good imo. Everytime he sends out another novice mare I get very nervous, if he has an alternative for the mares race he'll find it hard to avoid the supreme with her.
