Oscar Noms

Gareth, you are quite right, I don't know what came over me! What a bloody travesty - yet another one that would have a completely different result if voted on now.

I'm bricking it. I've laid 10/1 on Crash and its now as low as 11/4 with Paddy Puff....Jesus....

Just saw Syriana tonight - excellent stuff, if incredibly cynical!
Glad you said that. I am going to try and catch it this week and have been looking forward to it.

Ok not Oscar Nominated but did anyone ever go see Jarhead? Was meant to but never got a chance, and I see its out on DVD next week.

On the grounds that Derek McGovern cant tip his hat, I will... If I do dodge it, I'll be going back in on Joe Cole at 14/1..

I've seen Jarhead. It's pretty good but not Oscar material. 'Nothing happens' indeed which seems to be the point in the end.

Finally caught The Constant Gardener this afternoon; I'm stunned it didn't get more nominations.

Brokeback Mountain is a good thing. (Mind you, I'm not playing in any market other than best supporting actor)
Well i think Crash is going to win it. :shy:

Actually I was wrong - I thought it was a reference to a line in Brokeback Mountain, but the actual line is "If you can't fix it, you gotta stand it", as opposed to "...you gotta stick it".

Unless Brian made the same mistake as me, which I doubt!

Can Gearoid fix it though or does he need to stand it ? :D

I haven't seen all the nominees but I thought Brokeback Mountain, Good Night and Good Luck and Walk The Line were all very good films .

Looking forward to Capote and Syriana
