Panda Cam

Don´t you find strange that the cub is 26 inches long but weights only 9.9 pounds?
I thought she would be heavier than that

Also the female can only live to about 7-8years, whilst the male can go on for 25!
I tuned in last night after 9pm and the cub was rolling around all over the den, he was just playing. This morning mum and baby were cuddled up together for hours , they are wonderful creatures.

Trips, this is the most fascinating viewing ever. I've saved the site to 'Favourites' and have visited it several times tonight. Baby panda has just been up for a short toddle and a half-roll, and is now snuggled back to sleep. I watched two heffalumps stroll (well, time warp, really, as the web cam jumps a bit) along their path by the stream before presumably going to their own nests for the night. I saw a polar bear on the polar bear cam, too. The beach cams are great - some fabulous rollers at Del Mar, people walking their dogs - it feels strange to think we can peer into these lives, thousands of miles away, as they happen. I'm sure many people take it for granted, but it's a curious sensation to have the sight, rather than just the sound via long-distance phone calls. Thanks very much for putting up this charming and addictive site! :)

I watched the baby feeding last night. Mum came in and plonked herself down in the corner, then baby panda started jumping all over her. It looked like he wanted to bite her ears. Anyway she coaxed him down a little and settled him down so he could suckle. She was so gentle with her baby, at one point she was holding him close to her.
The other cams are brilliant too, its a shame we have the time difference, which means alot of the time the animals are asleep, but I usually find about 9-11pm there is something going on.

The panda world is obviously the place to be.

I thought that was fairly black and white, Tom. They threatened to chute and were brought in by a panda car.

I thought they had been convicted of a callous murder in a vegetarian restaurant due to faulty syntax.

For those interested..... if you click on the Panda Blogs latest news section above the Panda Cam, you will be taken to another section of the zoo's website which has some excellent videos and photos. At the base of the new page there is a video section called ' babies'. The Meercats, Fossas and Dhole puppies are brilliant.

I love the site Diminuedo, BUT everytime I look, they are fast asleep. Could someone give me a cyber "shout" when there is some panda movement!

It either just burped or blew off. It definitely just moved very suddenly and was still clearly asleep. Fascinating.

If anyone tunes in and just gets them sleeping all the time, there is something called a Time Lapse above the cam screen. This will give you a choice of dates . Click on any and you will get a speedy version of that days events. If they played The Benny Hill tune in the background it would be quite funny.
