Planet of Sound

And this is why NH rules. I had a bet in neither race but was urging both of the old boys home. Top days racing.

And here's me; thinking Planet Of Sound's win typifies the poor standard of racing prevalent at this time of the year.

Great to see Captain Chris put his best foot forward too - ripped Champion Court to shreds . He seems in better form this year and the Ascot Chase could be his this year.

shows how much you know then! A horse running off a mark 8lb lower than his best winning one with a long history of running very well on his seasonal debut betting as the 2nd least fancied in the field.

No brainer for a bet.

His last rating was 166 when he won the Punchestown Gold Cup from War of attrition, Cooldine and Denman . So 22lb below his last winning mark !

Hobbs' has had a poor few seasons recently due to a nasty virus they couldn't seem to get rid off. Now everything seems to be OK, those decent horses in the past are recovering their form.

His jumping won it for him today and was fantastic to watch. A shame that Carruthers couldn't hold hold on for the oldtimers win double

The no-brainer is judging the quality of a race by whether you've won or lost on it. :)

Nope

The "quality" of the race has nothing to do with my winnings or even the prize money

It's about seeing a performance or a finish and most especially a narrative. Something to remember

Was it more more memorable than a 50k sprint handicap or some sales race?

You bet your fcking life it was
