I seldom post anything critical on threads like this as Simon is a good bloke and he's just trying to make a living, but I have to admit I read the above topic title and thought exactly the same as Slim.Professional Racing Tipster is not a thing.
I'd be fairly confident you still get to eat, even if you don't tip winners, while working at the Racing Post.Well unless you work for the RP
I agree 98% mate.Just to clarify my thoughts. Simon will be very aware of my views on any label like “professional gambler” — I think the self-proclaimed titles are meaningless in the real world. I’d go as far as to say it’s mortifying calling yourself a professional tipster. It’s like giving a nod to the aspiration of being an old-school professional punter, while admitting you’re not good enough, all in one go.
I’d be embarrassed to identify as anything betting-related. It’s a badge of shame, not pride, in modern societ

Tbh, I agree - I refer to myself as a "punter" (no pretentious, or hostage to fortune, prefix) and I only do that because I am, literally, shameless.I’d be embarrassed to identify as anything betting-related. It’s a badge of shame, not pride, in modern society.
They'd miss the urinal.Soon be made to use their own toilets then.
