Not much to discuss really except Quevega's winning distance if she turns up in her usual form.

You probably right but as much as I think she'll win again I'll go through the usual 3 stages..........first look at the betting and it looks like a walk in the park for her. Then look at the field on the day and it looks a fair bit tougher, then watch the actual race and reality sets in of just how much can go wrong. For the first 2/3rds of the race everything starts to look a lot more dangerous than it did all those months ago when I looked at the betting.

No doubt by the top of the hill all the fears will have disappeared as the opposition looks pretty crap for want of a better word........7 lengths sound about right to you?

I think Miss Milborne is worth a small each-way at a big price.

Regarding Quevega, can anyone answer me these questions?

1) Why is she still in training?

I'm not complaining but surely she can earn much more as a broodmare than a racehorse now, and winning another mares' hurdle isn't really going to enhance her value.

2) Why is she raced so little?

Thanks in advance.

To answer both your questions, I think the reason she races so little must be that she is off having foals the rest of the time.

She had problems as a youngster re soundness in France so they are careful with her.
Can be temperamental at home if stories are to be believed so WPM does the magic as he knows best. Holy Orders helped get him in practice for the troublesome ones!

To me its like saying "why is Messi playing when he could be making money flogging nike gear instead!"

Maybe its because some still see racing as a sport. Daft i know

Not daft at all Clive if that's the owners's thing and he's not strapped for cash......not easy to let go and how many times in a lifetime do you get a chance to own a Cheltenham winner?

Look at Clive Smith and Kauto Star and what it must be costing him to give Kauto and himself a continued interest and the chances of a return there are probably zero

I reckon this Swing Bowler might give Quevega a race today. I've got Quevega in some multiples but I'm a big fan of Pipe's horse and she should at least make Quevega work. She looks a great e/w bet. Kentford Grey Lady for the tricast.
