Diplomat is remotely interesting as a dark one for this. Roll Along and Our Conor are a cut above the rest.

Plenty of cross-Irish-Sea formlines available here; most of which prop-up the suggestion that Our Conor is a decent horse, who should prove hard to beat in the Triumph.

However, have been left behind on the island, I've backed Hidden Justice (average 22) as a sporting option against the jolly. He absolutely cantered all over Only Orsenfoolsies, who has gone on to win his next two, and the third that day (beaten over 20L) was Vizir D'Estruval; an easy winner of a nice little race at Pau, and Guillaume Macaire's last runner in the UK (I think). The genius Macaire rarely brings them over for the weather, and it's a reasonable assumption that he holds the horse in some regard.

Whilst it's possible that Hidden Justice will want Soft ground, he's a willing type who'll benefit from a stout test, and the helter-skelter nature of the Triumph should help him in that regard. He'll do as a complement to my Irish Saint bet (which, if perhaps not quite dead, is in the ICU).

With Simonsig and Sprnter Sacre winning this year, I wouldn't be a layer of 20 or more lengths at 7/4.

Am on Our Conor at 6/1 but have also backed Swynymor e/w as a saver. Price has more that doubled (place market) after today:mad:

I backed it earlier in season at big odds but very small stakes,I was gutted the last time it fell when coming to win the race.not sure where it goes after today. The two winners ante post for me are our Connor and Rolling star

Nicholls does seem unusually bullish about Far West. Pity, as I'm on Lac Fontana! Still, nothing wrong with backing more than one in this race and it has been relatively easy to find the winner over the years.

things may change saturday after rolling star won at cheltenham henderson alluded to having a better one at home i note courtesy call has been entered for the adonis a 5 time winner on the flat for johnson if he does the business saturday and the ground dries out at the festival the adonis could be the key to the triumph as it so oftem has in the past

I'll be astonished if Henderson has one that can get Rolling Star off the bridle.

News to me if he's a leading light at Seven barrows the horse Nicky was referring to is most likely Tistory who had a set back but is now back in training. Whether he's actually go hurdling now or not this season remains to be seen but I suspect the Champion Bumper could be on the cards for him if he can get him fit.

Nicky entered him and have every intention of running in an end of season bumper in Ireland last year without realizing he didn't qualify. The way things have worked out I could see him turning up at Cheltenham or Aintree this year.

we mentioned tistory some time ago he is a novice the horse henderson alluded was clearly a juvenile as he was discussing his juveniles after rolling star had won at cheltenham.

he obviously didnt mention him by name but as he is entered in the adonis which is a leading trial for the triumph (used by both henderson and nichols) and there are no other recgonised trials i have assumed it was courtesy call he was reffering to it could of course be another juvenile who we will see next year as a novice but i am sure the percentage call is that if he has a better juvenile prospect than rolling star he will try and go for the triumph with it

I'd say he put him in the Triumph in case the ground comes up really fast as there's no guarantee Rolling Star would go on it and there's a shortage of 4yo's in the yard who are fit enough to run in the race.

Curtain Call was rated about the same as his ex stable companion Bordoni and he's any price you like for the Triumph so unless he's been setting the world on fire at home and has improved out of all recognition I doubt if he'll be winning today.

I see BG has chosen to ride their other entry today and has committed to Rolling Star in the Triumph already that surely tells you something.

I'd save your money for a horse who could be a much better long term prospect :-Beat That in the bumper.........a bit of a tough of the track character as he's not exactly bred in the pink on the dams side. A son of Milan (Rolling Star and MTOY) who's well fancied to show he'll be a force over hurdles to reckon with next season.........He gets a good mention in Barry's blog which is more than Curtain Call gets....so either he doesn't rate him or he's putting us all away by saying nothing......I'd say the percentages favour the former

Barry knows!

Can you do a straight forecast double?

Rolling Star to beat Far West and the winning distance to be ten lengths or more...

Unless we get rain Far West can't win. The same can be accused of Our Connor I'm starting to struggle to find a reason that Rolling Stone will get beat.
