Royal Ascot 2015

Al Kazeem returned from his outing in Ireland injured and will not make The Prince Of Wales stakes according to Roger Charlton today.

Frankie Dettori has also stated he prefers to ride Western Hymn over California Chrome.

Western Hymn has a few lengths to make up on market leader Free Eagle on their Queen Elizabeth running on heavy ground at Ascot last season, but he wasn't going into that race in top form having been beaten when a short priced jolly at Deauville.

He has improved a bit this season in terms of reliability though, winning twice at Sandown.
He beat Postponed well enough who ran Al Kazeem close in Ireland, finishing ahead of The Grey Gatsby in the process.

In short, I think Western Hymn is a few points overpriced here.
Free Eagle could be very good but Western Hymn should be ahead of Ectot and California Chrome in the betting, if not The Grey Gatsby too.

I can't see him being 12/1 on the day and I also think he has a strong chance judging by the form he's been in.

Isn't there a danger WH will not let himself down on fast ground again. He did fine at Sandown but did veer towards the end of the race.

Strong fancy for Muthmir in the King's Stand.

Can't wait for this one - on lads do in Beni 16-20th :) pure bliss, no other half pestering me to do stuff, sun, wifi bars - cpl of winners would be even better

He did wander a bit Euro but that wouldn't be the first time. He's won his last two races well even if not doing it by a big margin, I like horses that can get the job done without being too flashy.
Ground wise, I'd guess Gd or Gd-St might be his ideal ground, but he's won on firmer while finishing a staying on fourth on heavy at Ascot.

There's still a few firms holding out at 7/1 for Mustajeeb, Will be a 4/1 shot on the day.
I seriously fancy this one.

Prices in the Queen Anne looks a little off. Solow I'm wary about because his best run was in Meydan. The HK horse is short considering the trip. NOT looks overpriced then.

In the build-up to Royal Ascot (June 16 – 20th) and in recognition of the late Sir Henry Cecil, Channel 4 will broadcast a one-hour documentary entitled: The Trainer and the Racehorse: The Legend of Frankel.

Broadcast on Saturday, 13th June at 7pm - this documentary tells the story of how Frankel became the ultimate champion racehorse and transformed the last years of charismatic trainer Sir Henry Cecil.

Powers offering your stake back as a free bet if your selection in the Queen Anne is second or third. Max £50.

That's a decent offer but I'm going round in circles with the race
Solow should win but I just have a feeling a mile on quick ground won't be his cup of tea.

I'm completely against him. Had nothing to beat last time out and Meydan form is worthless. Fast ground/straight mile I'm with NOT

I am against Gleneagles in the SJP. I think his price is too short and the French horses, especially Make Believe have a very good chance in the race.

I think with WH the biggest problem is he's been beating animals not yet 100% at there best. So many times we see results turned on their head as the season comes to it's peak period after the Derby meeting

Gleneagles went along way to proving he's the real deal with a second victory over the very talented Ivawood and it will be a brave man who opposes him at Ascot.

Sole Power is a tough nut to crack but I would be very keen on Tiggy Wiggy if the King Stand is her target??????? I assume it is not or she would not be 16/1?

A 3rd mention of a Hannon horse must go to King Of Rooks.....Round Two is favourite for the Coventry and 2nd fav for the Norfolk...he can't be in 2 places at the same time.

I can see no reason why they would want to take King of Rooks on which makes the 5/4 King of Rooks look Gianormous............even if he did run King of Rooks may prove the better anyway.

Banket: King Of Rooks 5/4

I would have thought Tiggy Wiggy will head for the Commonwealth Cup on the Friday Tanlic - currently best priced 6/1 for that race. Especially since Limato was turned over.

Irrigation programme to start again Thurs AM, aiming for "mainly good ground" for day one.

Currently good, good to firm in places.

There has to be some value in the Gold Cup market with the ground looking likely to be against the favourite and Brown Panther a probable non stayer. Mizzou seems the likeliest alternative, loves a bit of fast ground.

I've had my eye on Bathyron for the Gold Cup following the win at Longchamp last month. TRainer ahd a second at Ascot last year and I think will be desperate for the win. One of the few where stamina is not in question and represents good value for me.

Bathyron is very interesting. I would also like to see High Jinx running as well.

This is turning into a very unappealing betting proposition meeting.
I like Mecca's Angel, maybe Found, Brazen Beau and am against Gleneagles. I am also waiting for fields for the 2-y-o races as I got my mind in a couple of Ward trained juveniles.

Send Ivawood out to make all in the Jersey.
Think Toscanini could run well in that too at a bigger price.
