I think he is riding like a dream,
Best jockey I have seen since steve cauthen.

The ride on grandeur today was simply perfect.

Im not much of a one for watching or following jockeys and maybe should more...or moore

but to my mind he is brilliant. Almost uncanny ability

as it happens cauthen was also the last jockey i was similarly bewitched by.

What a family they are!

Never been Moore's biggest fan as he sometimes makes his mind up a horse has no chance and rides him accordingly.

That said he's been setting the world alight of late and some of his wins may not have been so had 80% of other riders replaced him.

The guy is a true Champion but up there with Richards, Cauthen, Piggot, Breasley, Eddery, Mercer, Fallon and Frankie at their best? I wouldn't go that far.

Frankie in his prime won 7 races at Ascot and there's no way you could have branded them all with the words "Good Thing" That was the ultimate "man and horse understanding" . Frankie for all his faults was a true genius and Ascot proved that........"Frankie goes to Ascot" would make a great Disney film as it was something you'd only expect to see in a a movie.

Agreed he's riding fantastically this year

At the start of the season I was convinced Hughes would retain his championship, but the quick start and particularly the link up with Fahey now make me think Ryan’s a good thing

Very hard for Hughes to make up 25 deficit unless Moore gets injured .

Why has he started talking when someone interviews him? Have his new'ish trainers told him to be more chatty after races or has his brother put him to shame recently. I agree about his riding, though.

Moore talks when he has something to say. When he talks, it is wise to take note.

No doubt that for the other jockeys riding today no matter how many winners they ride and whether they are champion jockey or not, they will be like Mercer, Lindley, Breasley Carson, Eddery et al in the 1960s and 1970s , Lester Piggott was still the best then and Moore is the same today .

Moore has been put up - rightly - for some superb rides lately. He's even got his own thread. I'm just trying to say he can also get it badly wrong. I'm criticising Dettori there too. He went off fast on CH and Moore chased him. Then Moore opted to go for the far rail. Maybe he thought there was better ground over there, I don't know. I do know that both he and Dettori finished well beaten. The obvious conclusion is that both went too fast. Watch the race again and tell me I'm wrong. Money doesn't come into it.

From my review of Thursday at Royal Ascot:
The Gold Cup was a very exciting race but the winner Leading Light is maybe appropriate rhyming slang for the value of the form. Spenceritis is clearly infectious as Dettori caught a bad dose of it aboard Simenon.

I didn't back Simenon either so if you don't mind I am quite capable of telling when a jockey gets it right or wrong. I don't think I backed any of Moore's winners (I was on Bold Sniper though) last week but his riding was one of the highlights of the week.

So stick your snide comments wherever.

From the 'What are you backing today' thread [regarding the Plate]:

Great shout, Euro. I got that one all wrong. I went low with the Chester Cup. I'll have to revisit it. Well done!

I backed two in that race. Neither ran particularly well. No criticism of the jockeys there or of the others that didn't win for me today.

It seems in your eyes if I say I've backed a winner I'm an aftertimer. If I criticise a jockey I must have backed the horse therefore I am a pocket talker.

That's pretty pathetic.
