Ryanair Rip-off

The Yorkshire Lawyer in questions wishes to issue a clarification that the use of the word attempting was not to suggest any physical deficiency in Lord H but the possibility of interruptus by a scary air stewardess banging on the toilet door.
So who was she banging?

Keep digging...... [/b][/quote]
The suggestion came from Somerset not Yorkshire .

:D

I'm surprised that Lord Hartigan's best mate in Ireland, An Capall, hasn't wandered onto this trivial thread to remind you all of your priorities. Or perhaps he prioritises who to remind about them.

I shall be away so will miss next Thursday's Question Time which comes from Belfast. Alongside the assorted politicians on the panel will be Ryanair's (and war Of Attrition's) Mr Michael O'Leary. I do so hope that someone asks one of the many questions I'd like to ask.

Mr O'Leary may be sueing the British government for the harm that he says the new security measures are causing his profitability but he has been quick to recognise an opportunity.

From Friday, Ryanair passengers who check in luggage at the airport will pay £7.00, an increase of 40% on the £5.00 charge imposed in March. A similar rate of increase applies to baggage checked in online - £3.50 per bag, up from £2.50.

At the same time the maximum weight allowed before excess baggage charges are incurred is reduced from 20 kg to 15 kg.

To avoid these charges passengers can always take what they need in their hand luggage. (AS long as all they need is a small toothbrush.)

Given the minimal difference in price, the more civilised flight times and ACTUAL cities that each airline flies to, if you are planning to be in your destination for more than a day I think you are just as well flying with a non-budget airline.

My return flights from Gib to the London (Heathrow or Gatwick) on BA are rarely more than £120, given a months notice before flying. The Monarch (a no-frills airline) flights go to Luton at less convenient times, with more likelihood of a cancellation and at pretty much the same cost.

Were I to fly Easyjet from Malaga, I would have to travel 130km to get to the point of departure, and fly at midnight just to get £30 off. And I really object to the cattle-like situation at the gate.

I have taken good budget airline flights, but not since last December - before the checked-in luggage charges.

I'm sure you'll have to try Fly Gib when it starts - if only for the experience!!!
For sure...... day trips to Leeds/Bradford..... can't wait..... :P

Thought you'd be interested to hear that yesterday's Chronicle said that BA & Iberia will start flying to Madrid & Barcelona next year. Unsurprisingly the natives are up in arms.
