Euro, despite what you think, R4s do actually favour the punter. Backing a horse at a morning price and having a R4 deduction on it virtually always works out very much more in the punters favour than taking the price once the new book has been compiled.
 
Anyone that cannot see how Rule 4's favour the punter should work out the adjusted odds on the original market with a rule 4 applied and then compare it to the odds on the reformed market. I'd go so far as to say that punters would be favoured in about 90% of races where a non-runner is declared.
 
Very true and if you bet with a best odds guaranteed firm, they'll pay out whatever returns you the most, be it the lower SP or the price you took with a rule 4.
