Why did they stop using Musselburgh? Used to go pointing there a bit back in the day.

The meeting there was put on by the Northern Point-to-Point Club thanks to the vision of the then clerk of the course Bill Farnsworth, who was most keen to see the amateur sport further represented at a course that also fits two hunters’ chases into a pretty short Rules jumps season.

The first meeting there was in 2002 and attracted a huge crowd, but it was always a very expensive meeting to put on, and after attendance plummeted over the next couple of years time was called on the project ahead of the 2005 season. Northern does not appear to have a meeting scheduled anywhere this coming season.

Thank you for finding the information i was looking for the Northern point to point club there hunt has little members and as a result they have wound up. but happy to say we have a new course race this year as the fife hunt has opened a course at Leuchars near St Andrews replacing there previous venue at Overton farm and before that Balcormo mains.
