It reminds me too much of Sydney, and honestly, I am just not interested in migrating to England.Originally posted by cricketfan@Mar 19 2006, 01:18 PM
Every Aussie would have you think that it's God's country. What do you not like about the place ?

BI: you've been mistaking Ex-Lax for dark chocolate again, haven't you? Far too many motions there than are good for your system, young man!
I am 22, Kathy and know exactly where you are coming from. About 14 months ago, I was living a life where I worked at least 60 hours a week (nil lunch hour too). On paper it looked fantastic, being the number one account executive insurance broker for McDonald's Australia and her licensees, in reality it was killing me.Originally posted by Kathy@Mar 21 2006, 11:47 AM
So true Luke. I worked for a big company and put in on average a 55-65 hour week but they didn't appreciate me. I was constantly overlooked for promotions etc, probably as I was female. After a spell in hospital I had time to evaluate my life and shortly after going back to work, I decided to give up the job with a company car and pension that I had been at for over 20 years for a massive pay decrease to work with my partner some 6 years ago and I have never looked back. I now have much better working conditions, some stress - but it's bearable, my dog in the office to entertain me (and the staff) and I have employed all my own staff. Life is too short to be unhappy at work, so if an opportunity arises (and I appreciate it doens't always happen), grab the opportunity with both hands. Don't wait like I did to be in hospital to realise what is really important in life.
