I suppose Trood's topic set me off thinking about this!

Having been separated for over two years now, after having been married for 27 years, I find it quite amazing how used you become to living on your own. One of the better sides to it is being able to make my own financial decisions with my income without having to 'discuss' it with anyone else. I used to handle all the home (and business) finances but obviously, if there was something major I wanted to buy, I had to discuss it with my 'ex'. As did he with me. I really love having my own income and being able to use it as I want to, even though it's quite a bit less than half the joint income we used to have!

Stuff I do miss from time to time are little things like being made the odd cup of coffee or meal and also I concede that when anything mechanical goes tits up, blokes usually have the edge on sorting it.....

So from that waffle, I have concluded that an ideal set-up for me would be a Friday eve - Monday morning bloke, who lives in London or some other big city and who would like to spend his weekends in the country with a (natch) charming female companion (who conforms to the Jerry Hall mantra). Must like animals. Going racing. Financially solvent. And be tall..... B)

OK, any of you lot know any suitable candidates??

I'd prefer a girl in the country who could deal with me Monday through Wednesday morning. Getting weekends off is a nightmare. Now that Songsheet's brought it up, that doesn't seem like an unattractive option at all. I don't mind a bit of work either, if that helps. Offers by PM please :P

D'you think we could be developing an alternative revenue stream for Col?

I reckon Pee and Dom should up the ante for a start to Col :P

I reckon the ideal would be someone with whom I was truly madly deeply, etc. but it would be no use unless those feelings were reciprocated.

That is a very rare occurence, I reckon, so most people 'settle' for whatever they're comfortable with at the time.

At my age & stage, I reckon I could live independently of any woman and, while I would welcome their company from time to time, I reckon I'm way past falling in love again.

It's probably just my gushing hormones talking, but I've got my perfect relationship here with Mr GG  He is my best friend, he'll do anything to make me and our girls happy, he works bloody hard to make sure we want for nothing and he worships the ground I walk on :D

I live in London

I like the country

I am hetrosexual (with a thing for older women)

I love animals

I love racing

I am in permanent, full-time employment

I am 6ft 3ins

See you on Friday Darling!

Griffin, you and me both.

I went out for the day in the horsebox on Sunday and when I came back the OH had cleaned the house (including the bogs), cooked my dinner, and had recorded something off the telly for me to watch, and had taken Barney out for two long walks. Not only that, he came racing with me at Kempton on Saturday too and brought me a bottle of pink champagne! :D

Saying that, he is off to Prague for 5 days from tomorrow, and I am quite looking forward to having the house to myself for a few days, BUT by Sunday I will be looking forward to seeing him again..... as the bogs will need cleaning again! :P

She can have me Tuesday-Thursday.

Having said that, I am still waiting for Trudi's photo - so it could all change again.

It appears Rory is available sooner than he thought, both for weekends and midweek.

There is NO Silver Ring at Brighton, young AC! We run a quality course, for quality people...

I'm in the autumn of life (Jeeeezz... I never thought it would ever get this far!), and I'm content to say there is no-one I'd want to repeat, and nothing else I feel the need to try! (Relationship-wise, that is. I still want to have a crack at bungee-jumping, just as soon as a specially-reinforced cable's been invented.)

Yes, even if it is slightly tinged by hysteria! Rory, Julie's recently refurbished some really lovely, cosy, loose-boxes, so I'm sure that, in a pinch...

... reasonable terms, and all the hay you can eat!

Right well just in case:

Well presented male, must like horse racing and be financially secure, and if he doesn't like my taste in music he must at least have the sense to keep quiet on the subject. Must not be possessive, get jealous when I decide to sod off and spend time with friends at the last minute, and preferably goes away (and, er hopefully comes back) when told. Or at least lives away for significant amounts of time during the week. Strictly no slagging off Chelsea. NO RAP / R&B / GARAGE / CLUB MUSIC IN THE HOUSE, or indeed ever. No Arsenal supporters, manic depressives, Robbie Williams fans or politicians.

I'm not holding my breath.

I was doing well with the well presented, financially stable and into horse racing bit, cruising in fact. Then:

i unseated, refused and was brought down all at the same time.
