Songs being murdered for charitable purposes

I have a difficulty with these .

Supporting the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti and reconstruction efforts is very laudable and I am sure a very many of us have put their hands in their pockets and supported the Disaster Emergencies Committee appeal .

I suppose that if lots of people buy the cover version of Everybody Hurts that will swell the coffers a great deal but I have seldom heard a more treacly , cloying , repulsive , and just downright wrong cover of a song ever !!!
 
And the son of the appalling 'Papa' Doc can keep the last few million plundered from Haiti's Treasury, thanks to some legal absurdity. I'm sure he'll be turning it all over to help his tragic fellow Haitians, of course...

'Everybody Hurts' is a treacly, cloying and repulsive song anyway. I've never liked it, and I've made a donation without it joining my CD collection, thank God!
