OTB - that's a helluva lotta DENMANS!

Well, he's got the complete collection now: championships by the mile, a lovely wife, a charming little girl, loadsamoney, coveted races won, and now public recognition in spades. Time to give up riding and start fronting for ATR!

This was sent to me by PM today:

I hope AP thanks the great man for getting them well handicapped.

"Young Sports Personality Of The Year 2010 Stopper McLernon!"

Team of the Year - The Boys At Jackdaws Castle

The stopper McLernon comment is a dead giveaway for the perpetrator of that PM.

I agree with harry; I've been pondering all night whether he mentioned Martin Pipe and decided that he hadn't. Guess McCoy didn't ealise there was a bitch of the highest order making notes on his acceptance speech or he'd've done a Gwyneth Paltrow [yeah; he didn't cry either!]....

Mccoy on ATR now talking about his award...

Wake me up someone. Fucking hell, he is an "unbelievable" boring berk

Just as with ryan Giggs, having no presonaility whatsoever doesnt seem to matter a jot

God he still going on.... "unbelievable"

I thought this was rather nice!

From the RP

I WOULD like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported me in the run-up to BBC Sports Personality of the Year and on the night by voting for me.
It capped a wonderful year for me and, at the risk of using an appalling cliché, I hope that on the night this great sport of ours was the winner, and that it might help attract a few new fans.

There are just too many people to thank individually, but if I ever run for prime minister I could well be turning to you for your support again - you were superb and I hope none of you ran up big phone bills on the night.

The cardboard cut-outs of me, which many of my colleagues said had more personality than I do, will be coming down and those people who had had their fish and chips spoiled by eating out of an article about me will once again be able to enjoy the taste.

Have a very happy Christmas and thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

AP McCoy, Lambourn

If he didn't, it sounds as if he did! I can't for the life of me see AP using a phrase like 'at the risk of using an appalling cliche' - that's what happens when you use a 'system of a Down' (Euro - did you like that?).
