Just over two weeks to the race. Any strong views on the race?

And the winner is?

I've backed Windshear at 25's and 16's love the horse however can Hannon train one for this race???, saw him live at Newbury on Lockinge day when he was 2nd behind Cannock Chase over 10f on good ground but ran a big race despite the trip being too short for him which shows he has a bit of pace. His last run at Goodwood in the Gordon stakes when 2nd again behind Snow Sky puts him right there as he got no luck whatsoever in running but finished mowing then down and the extra distance in the Leger will be of benefit to him.

Not sure Kingston Hill really wants this far though can see the arguments for.
Not sure I would run him if they also have the Arc in mind.
Bar him, I'm underwhelmed by this years race.
Of the others then I too would have Windshear on my shortlist, though no strong view tbh.

That would be my worry. I think from a betting point of view this race is similar to the Sprint Cup in that we have a shortie who is a heinous price. It's a good each way race for that reason.

I like Snow Sky but he isn't really bred to appreciate another two furlongs whereas Windshear really is.

Word of caution -

HOLD YOUR BETS

Ladbrokes will be 4 places on the day and probably best price matching too.

I am all over John Gosden's Forever Now for this. Will be raiding the kids’ money box to get as much as I can on him. Eyecatching win in an important Leger trial, unexposed, trained by a man who block books 15 rooms on Leger weekend in the hotel beside the racecourse and a dosage profile that screams Leger. What's not to like?

By Galileo, out of a Darshaan mare by Be My Guest. A nice chunk of stamina, with a bit of speed as the dam was a winning miler. His half-brother Shantaram won the Bahrain Trophy over 1m6f for Gosden. So he knows the family well (I love saying that). I have such a roaring hard on for him in the Leger that my desk is in danger of falling over here.

He should be odds on.

Not to mention he's a course winner. The astute readers of the forum will realise this is a recurring theme though....

"I am all over John Gosden's Excess Knowledge for this. Will be having my largest bet of the flat season. Eyecatching prep run in an important Leger trial, unexposed, trained by a man who block books 15 rooms on Leger weekend in the hotel beside the racecourse and a dosage profile that screams Leger. What's not to like?

By Monsun, out of a Dansili mare by Rainbow Quest. A nice chunk of stamina, with a bit of speed from Danzig/Danehill on the dam side. His dam won the Aphrodite Stakes over 1m4f for Gosden. So he knows the family well (I love saying that). I have such a roaring hard on for him in the Leger that my desk is in danger of falling over here.

He should be odds on."

I am already looking forward to making the same post for next year:

By Nayef, out of a Pivotal mare by Nureyev. A nice chunk of stamina, with a bit of speed as judged by his 2yo runs. His grand-dam won a Goodwood maiden and placed in the Cherry Hinton for Gosden. So he knows the family well (I love saying that). I have such a roaring hard on for him in the Leger that my desk is in danger of falling over here.

kingston hill drifted to an almost backable price now

9/2 e/w with 4 places at 365 has to be considered

This looks a simple case of if KH gets the trip then he beats these.
Just not sure he wants this far.
