Steve assmussen

I've gone from being a dupe who liked to think that racing in this part of the world was broadly clean and fair to realising that the present control regime leaves the sport wide open to drugs cheating and that more than a few have been at it.

On a slightly different topic:

And its not before time. He has been bankrupt multiple times and it is simply not fair on those suppliers who never get their money back. The BHA has needed to get a pair for a long time with regard to trainers going bankrupt and then setting themselves up the next week as a ltd company. And the same goes for owners too. I had an owner who had been bankrupt twice and ended up owing me £4k - the BHA apart from putting him on the Forfeit list did absolutely nothing to help me get it back and I'd imagine he's now owning horses under another family members name.

Would it be possible that Jarvis in good faith bought a horse(s) on the instructions of an owner in the yard who then didn't coin up? And then Jarvis finds himself in the dock as a result, and not because of any intentional wrongdoing on his part?

You'd be surprised at who doesn't pay their bills. Or maybe not. You'd think if you can afford to run a horse in the carnival in Dubai, you can afford to pay your training fees, right? More irritatingly, as it's running abroad you can't even have the BHA stop it running until the fees are paid!

Oh, they [ Buzzers] are absolutely illegal no matter where used but the conversation was about something that happened 15 years ago. The editing to convey it as an everyday usage now is what I take issue with.

Just yesterday, jockey Roberto Morales was arrested in possession of five buzzers at Prairie Meadows.
(There is also the small matter of him being in unlawful possession of a gun and some unspecified prescription drugs).

Heh, you couldn't make it up; the jockey mentioned for using a buzzer in the Peta video about Asmussen ( and which is something that Miesque claims happened 15 years ago ), has been caught using the buzzer again this month at Sam Houston. Roman Chapa is photographed with the buzzer in his left hand aboard the winner of the $50,000 Richard King Stakes.
Chapa is now apparently on the run, and a court warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Shouldn't be making light of a serious matter, but there is an irony in the name of the horse -- "Quiet Acceleration".

Trained by ................... Danny Pish !

In the original PETA video shockers were mentioned in a dinner party conversation. It was a conversation about QH bush tracks. That is a fact, I was sat at the table.

That Chapa is still using a shocker is a completely separate matter and he should have the book thrown at him.

You were present at the dinner party at which Scott Blast regaled the table with the story about Chapo hiding a buzzer in his mouth? Really?
