It took me ages to get the answer 'tarsier' to one its clues because 'arsier' - as in more arsey - was part of it.

The clue was:

Primate tense and more irritable.

I eventually got the t-r-i-r but when I realised the answer was 'tarsier' I was genuinely surprised.
