COUSIN VINNY, who created history last April when adding to his Cheltenham bumper success in the Punchestown equivalent, is among the eight entries remaining for the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle.
The Willie Mullins-trained five-year-old is joined by his stable companion Hurricane Fly, who was confirmed an intended runner on Tuesday for the Grade 1 2m event.
"Hurricane Fly is working well enough and the plan is to run him in Fairyhouse on Sunday," said Mullins. "He's all set to run but I'm not sure about Cousin Vinny as he's also entered in a maiden hurdle there on Saturday, so we'll wait and see until closer to the time - I'm in no rush with him as it's still early in the season."
Hurricane Fly, a Listed winner in France as a three-year-old, won first time out over hurdles for Mullins in good style at Punchestown in May before winning again three weeks later on his return to France. His most recent run saw him finish a creditable second in the Grade 1 Prix Alain du Breil in testing ground at Autueil in June.
Noel Meade, who has won the Royal Bond in three of the last four years, is also double-handed with the unbeaten Donnas Palm, a runaway winner at Naas over hurdles after winning his Navan bumper, and dual-winning hurdler Fisher Bridge, runner-up to Academy Sir Harry in a Grade 3 event at Navan last time.
"I'd say at this stage that Donnas Palm will probably run but Fisher Bridge is a definite runner," said Meade.
"Similar to our others engaged in the Grade 1s, including Aran Concerto in the Drinmore, we'll waitand see how things are with them all later in the week before making our minds up fully."
