Talking Horses Ante-Post Competition 2024 / 2025 February selections

Will post tables before Cheltenham and keep everyone updated each day of the festival. Sorry that I haven't been very prompt in showing tables etc for this at all

Here are the tables before the Festival, I will update with any scores each evening. Please let me know if there is anything missing or wrong from your stables.

After the first day, only wilsonl has any points - £6,000 return courtesy of Puturhandstogether, well done Lee :) As it is only one score I haven't done a screenshot of the table but I will do at the end of the week. Will give a quick update each day too.

Many congratulations to Grey :) There were some more points on the board today courtesy of Kargese and Ethical Diamond but not enough to topple Grey from the top.

Well done to wilsonl and barjon who were a close second and third, and to everyone who managed to get some points on the board.

Anadin, would you be able to sort out with Grey about the trophy please.

Well done Grey, a nice addition to the Alan Morgan trophy.
PM me your address and I will try and get sorted this week.

Thanks as always goes to New Approach.

That’s great news, this is a trophy I’ve always wanted to win. I’ve been lucky though. Only one dart, Lecky Watson, struck home. And even then the perils of ante post betting are shown by the fact my bet was at 14/1 and on the day he went off at 22/1.

It has also been a lucky week in other ways. I became a grandfather on Tuesday night and then proceeded to have my winningest day ever on the Wednesday thanks to a yankee that included Lecky, Jimmy Du Seuil and Bambino Fever. Celebrations ensued in great company, including Mr An Capall and other housemates (all of whom also had notable days) and the Byrne family, owners of lovely Lecky.

I politely declined suggestions that I ask my daughter to name her newborn son Lecky, or even Watson. But that might change when he wins the Gold Cup next year.

Thank you to all those who took part and a special thank you to Faye/New Approach for the work she puts into the running of this and the TTF competitions. She does a quality job.

Anadin, thanks, I’ll be in touch.

A big thank you to Faye for devoting her time to what has been a fun competition (every Forum needs one) I fully appreciate how much time it takes as I run one on Pointing Pointers which I am pleased to say Faye takes part in that one.
