That's still £189,550 in the pot...
People put off by the cancellation last year...plus the massive syndicates (some to the tune of £5000) scooped 2 monthly and the main prize in the summer..

At least the Tote have covered their guarantee £150,000...

Agreed. I'm just happy its running, and to be fair, once I got the hang of how to use the website its been very reliable, in terms of swapping horses etc.

They change the rules as they go along....They let the scoring begin immediately you substituted in the summer...that was never in the rules at the beginning.
 
They've also let in latecomers with points gatecrashing Leagues offering prizes. Should have been cut off by the Tote.

I see what you mean; strange how they've named them. With regard to the points counting straight away for flat transfers they did update the rules before the window (should have been an alert banner too) but i didn't check as i wasn't really in contention.

One thing i'd say about the 2020/21 competition is that the end date seems to achieve very little; not many points will be scored in the extra 2 weeks and Punchestown starts the following Tuesday. 2000 Guineas is May 1st, so would have required an Aintree finish to include that in the 2021 flat competition, although i personally think that Irish Guineas weekend (May 22nd) makes for a much better start date.
 
Oh stop whinging you lot, I reckon I've got a chance this season, if I'm still alive in March for the transfer swap...

I suppose you are referring to the Horse names (simplified list) but there is a very good reason for entrants naming them. If you are entering a multitude of compilations you need to be able to go from your spreadsheet to the entries quickly. Let's say you entered 50 stable's, then paid for them in blocks of 10 (just in case PC crashes whatever). Each block of 10 would say ie Maxbet 1, Maxbet 2, Maxbet 3 etc. So your 50 entries become 5 sets of identically named entries... If you just entered the whole 50 with no names, then every time you logged on, it would list them differently, the numbers won't tally with the order of entry. Can you imagine how long it would take to find the specific entry you want, for editing or substitutions etc.

Naming them all individually makes this task so much easier.

Obviously; but who are you saying has 1000 entries?

You can search for entries. Type 457 for example and you'll see a few lists come up. Further digging indicates that there are 3 groups of lists with between 400 and 500 entries, but none with more than 500.

Robert Winchcole who did well in the past has quite a few but they're not named sequentially in that way (he has a bunch beginning with 0 and then a batch of 01/24 etc).

Lostintranslation 543 doesn't have 543+ entries; however there are a number of 'no silk entries' with that format (horse/trainer/jockey followed by numbers) that on first glance look like they could be perms. I assumed this is what you were referring to; but the naming doesn't make much sense to me in terms of utility.
